Some were trained, trimmed EVERYBODY'S toenails, and EVERYONE

 pigged out on raw chicken!

OH, and some got brushed, till my arm fell off and I couldn't get off the floor,
and that was before I started drinking

Arrakis

by Arrakis on 11 August 2008 - 23:08

Saturday went to the middle of nowhere for a tracking seminar and then did some tracking. After we were done went up to Tahoe and found this great crystal clear creek and my dog played in the water.

Left late for the long trip up to Humboldt County to meet friends. Dog played in the ocean for hours. She's definitely a water dog! Now just kicking back for the next few days in Arcata before shipping off to College.

Sounds like everyone had fun!

We sure did

I left Oklahoma and drove to Atlanta to pick up my kiddo.  Drove to Atlanta picked em up and turned around and started back.  Got as far as Birmingham and stopped for the night.  Finished up the drive and got home about 8pm last night!  I HATE MY VAN right now!!  LOL! I think my ass has permanent stitching design in it from the seats in the van!  Well worth it though as I now have my Max back......so happy!  Here is his pedigree, he is a super boy!

GSDXephyr

Friday,  nice long morning at dog daycare (I own it, so it's like a 2nd home for my dogs..)

Saturday,  a few scent pads and short tracks in the school field,  too wet and slippery for any running exercise though.  So went to the local pet store and socialized with children and shopping carts.

Sunday,  rally obedience workshop from 10 am to 4:30pm with a two hour drive each way.   Had our very best course runs and heeling work to date,  super good time.   Then had balls shoved in my lap all night still because we didn't do much PHYSICAL exercise and the girl  wasn't tired yet.  Hoo boy.

Hm.
Saturday we traveled to Cincinnati for a UKC All-Breed conformation show (2 shows actually in one day). Brought home 2-1st places for Breeder/Handler, and 1 Best Reserve Dog for our 19 mos old male we took, and brought home a 1st and 2nd in Adult Female Class, brought home 2 Best Reserve Bitch for our 5 1/2 yr old---all handled by our 11 and 12 yr old kids for the FIRST time ever in the ring for all and earned Champion points for both GSDs (GERMAN bred GSDs, too!). Needless to say, I was nervewrecked, but PROUD of their efforts. They all did good!

Sunday we went out to eat and took the rest of the day to just hang out home and relax from a busy prevous day.

It may not be what some of you all do with your dogs as far as SchH training and all that really cool exciting stuff, but with no local dog clubs to train at, I'm very happy with anything we can accomplish with our dogs.

Couldn't take them with Saturday as I went and watched my sis ride the cross country portion of a three-day event.   Sunday took two of the girls to the club and worked, worked, worked.  (Once again a BIG silly grin on my face the whole time)  Helped a new member (at least I'm pretty sure he's going to join the club) by holding his dog for him during protection.

Came home and filled the "pool" for all and let them take turns playing "splash!"
