How are his hips and elbows?  OFA done?

His hips and elbows were x rayed in May, when he turned two, and look very good. Pending OFA. I can post them on here if you would like.

I have not seen the video as my dial up connection makes downloading very slow, but I like his colour, head and expression, and he looks in very nice condition. I have been told that hill climbing and puling a small cart are good excersies to help improve a narrow chest..

Nice color and pigment, looks tied in at the elbows and east west. I would not expect that to change at this age. As has already been  pointed out his croup is steep and doesn't move freely in the back, and his front reach leaves much to be desired.

He looks a little cow hocked to me also. You have a nice pet, no reason you can't get out there and enjoy him and learn. It will cost you thousands of dollars to train this dog professionally for show and work and then you will have a nice, maybe titled pet. I don't see breeding quality there but you didn't ask that. JMHO.

Have fun with him. Good luck.

I agree with all GSDlvr2. has said.

I looked at the video several times . He is compensating as best he can with his movement but I think he will have more soundness problems as time goes on . His shoulder assembly is forward placed.  I think you and he will struggle to get titles especially where the jumping is concerned with his weaknesses at the front end. It might be a small  help to put him on Vit.C, Glucosamine & Chondroitin.

Fokwulfe Kennels

This was just emailed to me.

I know the above dog well as I am the breeder.

In my humble opinion he is an above average male.  He was sold at a pet price, and I showed him to VP1 in a class of 5 or 6 in CT.  He then went on to go VP10 in a Sieger Show in CT, where there is always a high number of top show dogs.  The Sire & Dam are both nice dogs with good hips/elbows.

So here we have a male with nice character, great pigment, several VP ratings from SV judges.  The previous owner did nothing with the dog but made him a great pet.  So if you are looking for a dog that would make a great addition to your family, and be the family pet, as well as have some fun with, he may be the correct dog for you, but perhaps not.

Again just my humble opinion.  But just to put it out there, he is ALWAYS welcome here.

Respectfully,

Carl

I don't see anything wrong with his ball drives. I've titled dogs that brought a lot less to the table. Pretty face, nice pigment, nice coat. Lots of nice things about him. Have fun!

I wouldn't judge this dogs drive based on this video.  It's obvious the dog hasn't been played with correctly.  He is a pretty dog.  I don't know enough about conformation to comment, (working line person, & not a dog breeder) but I would not say yes or no regarding his drives based on this video.

Uh, I notice that this dog is now offered for sale on this board and I assume those were his xrays you posted here a week or so ago.  On June 20th you were having him trained and planned to show him. Three days later he's up for sale after receiving some negative critiques based on poorly positioned still photos and a playtime video? This is why I hate it when people ask for critiques on a dog we can't see in the flesh. Now everone who said this dog isn't going to be a podium dog will be feeling gulity.  Seems dogs never stick around your kennel for very long or am I wrong about that? Do you still have Amelia? Did you sell the Rapi Supra son?

This stinks - he's 2 years old, has had at least 2 homes and now is up for sale again? What's going on here? He's beautiful, I wish I could buy him. He'd have a forever home with me. I hate to see this breed passed around from owner to owner. Why didn't  you ask Carl to buy him back? He did breed the dog and he's already said he'd welcome him back any time.

I give up!! You could not pay me enough money to ever breed another litter of dogs unless I could keep every single puppy myself.

Petros,
I don't take things offensively but what you wrote "It would be best if you just leave him alone regarding training and have him trained by someone who knows what he is doing. No offense but you do not." Is offensive as a trainer who once was a rookie and didn't know better.

you also mention this dogs Ball drive. Granted the dog doesn't have super crazed high ball drive but theirs nothing wrong with the dogs drive.

We should encourage people like rockinrkranch to train their own dogs instead of telling people to ship the dog off to be trained by someone else.

If this is what we can produce to those who are rookies then I'm not impressed by the professionalsm on this board.

rockinrkranch,
I just watched the video on youtube and I must yell at you for what you did on :58 including other bits of the video. You NEVER ever take a toy away from the dogs mouth, ever! You need to teach the out command. I strongly suggest that you look around and find a schutzhund club nearby that can help you to train your dog.

If you truly want opinions about his conformation then take him to a show (or take him to a conformation club) and let the judge (or experienced members) voice their opinion about your dog.
