dee if you are looking for a training/reward type of treat try "liver cookies"! Old and young love them. I haven't used the exact recipe in years but it goes something like this and my dogs think I haven't messed it up at all!

1 package raw liver

1 egg (this wasn't in the original recipe but I ad it)

Garlic salt or powder. About a tsp powder a little more if you use salt.

Add cornmeal and whole wheat flour about the same amount (50/50) to make a stiff dough.

Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with Pam or equivalent.

Wet your hands (works for me) and flatten dough on cookie sheet, bake at 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes. Break in small pieces, put in a plastic zip lock bag and refrigerate. Just made a batch today!

If you want something to occupy the pups time a raw bone should keep him/her busy! Mine don't  like carrots but do like ice cubes!
