Still amazed at the people thinking this could have all happened in the 24 or 36 hrs DV reports she was unable to attend to these dogs. Go back and review the photos, not just look at the dogs. Look at all the surroundings, the brown halfway up the doors and kitchen cabinets, the dirty walls and furniture all evidence of extended periods of filth. Wood doesn't stain like that in that amount of time. From looking in and around the crates I believe she throwing some type of straw bedding on top of shit in the crates rather than cleaning leading to layers. It also seemed evident that some "favored" dogs may have gotton out more since some of the crates didn't have as much shit in them. Also that abcess on that dogs face did not happen in a day or 2 and would have stunk. This woman should never have any of these dogs back.

I have to agree with you GSD39mr.
First let's be realistic ...THIRTY NINE GSDS?   oh , and a cat.
For full time staff of 3 it would still be a huge amount of work, cleaning , pottying , feeding , exercising.
I have cared for multiple dogs before...IT WAS A FULL TIME JOB.
This is neglect and lack of proper care that took more than a day or two or 10 to happen.
This is long term neglect.
Now having said that, I would imagine she may have some mental issues, or you would hope that
this is a symptom of that and it is not done knowingiy or wontonly.
Most hoarders love their dogs.   Hoarding is a mental problem , whether it is objects or living things.
I hope she can find some help if it is discovered she has a psychological issue.
I hope she never owns another dog again in her life.
Or certainly cleans up her act, gets her life back on track and normalized and MAYBEwith help and
supervision , one day in the very long down the road future, may have ONE.
Now we pray for a good judge and best possible outcome for the dogs.

Indeed.  It's sickening that some continue to defend this woman and the conditions in which the dogs were living.  Perhaps the Humane Society/SPCA should stop by their homes next.  Dawn should never be permitted to have ANY dog ever again, let alone any one of these dogs.  Those who are supporting her are simply proving themselves to be extremely foolish or just as vile as she is.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Why are so many willing to condemn someone without a trial, or even hearing the "other side" . There is much more to this story and unfortuantely I am unable to comment at this time. The truth will come out, or the charges will be dropped. My guess is the truth will come out. Think about it folks , where are the cages stacked on top of cages with feces dripping down ? where are those photo's ? the spca is making false comments to prompt public outrage . When did legal rights of
d co-owners get denied under the US constitution. When did I refuse to give the names of  owners and co owners with an interest? That never happened. They were denied saying when the dogs were seizewd that ended .Read Ron Perez comments regarding the "charlantens"They are backtracking and trying to shock the public with these photo's which I have to admit are appauling. Where is the proof that the dog with the abcess was left untreated for months??????? because they say so? its printed on the internet so it must be true  . Seriously???? The "crime scene " was contaminated and at least 3 dogs went "missing" before the SPCA entered  my  home without a warrant.. Anyone that knows me from the show world knows my dogs have always been shown in top condition. Anyone that knows me personaly knows the love I have for my dogs if you dont know me personally and have a negative comment dont bother to post. I would lay down my life for anyone of my dogs . Watch the video and listen to the vet talking about how friendly these dogs were ( taken the next day). it  is becaue they were loved and cared for every single day.My home was in very poor condition because I could not allow them to be out in the cold. My dogs were loved, fed , given water and playtime every day .The vet even states he is suprised at how friendly they are. This did not happen by accident. .They were loved. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

I did see mostly happy dogs in fine physical condition. I also saw absolutely appalling photos of conditions that could never, ever happen in someone's care that is in a good place in life. That house looked like a Hoarders episode and your post supports my initial reaction. I don't know you, Dawn, but you lose the right to say who can and cannot post when you're posting on an internet forum, so I'll say what I think. People have said that your dogs looked good and you had a good reputation. They also say you never let anyone to your house. No, I certainly don't believe everything I read on the internet; I think everyone in the world has had people say something untrue about them. Such is life.

I do believe you had good intentions. I believe based on the demeanor of the dogs shown, you DID/DO "love" them and at one point they were well-cared for. I also believe you have very, very serious problems if you can even come on here and try to defend anything about what is shown in those photos.  It's apparent you fed and watered them. They were not emaciated. Many coats looked fine. It's also apparent because there was SHIT PACKED 5" HIGH IN SOME CRATES!!!  How can you defend that???! How?! BECAUSE YOU HAVE A MENTAL DISORDER. I am not saying that as an insult so much as a FACT that unless someone is just very, very cruel, they must have a mental disorder related to hoarding to not see what is so obvious to everyone else. Same as an anorexic who always thinks they're fat. Your perception is shot. You need serious and immediate help if you can justify keeping them in those crates rather than put them "out in the cold." What Smile  I have a very very close friend whose mother is a hoarder. I unfortunately know more about the disorder than I would like and it's a very dangerous affliction to anyone entrusted in a hoarder's "care." What a hoarder sees and what everyone else sees are totally different. You knew it was bad. You didn't let anyone see. If you had the sense to not let anyone see, then how could you feel ok about leaving the dogs like that?

Here's the thing, Dawn. Your excuses don't fly here because this is a dog forum. Not only are most of us very much dog lovers, but WE HAVE DOGS. We have GSDs. We know how they are. We know they will only eliminate in a crate under extreme circumstances. To have that level of excrement in EVERY CRATE and kennel means LONGTERM neglect. Period. I cannot imagine how long it must take in a crate to get that bad. And the fact that you just kept dumping food in there is also evidence of a hoarding/mental disorder. If you were playing wtih them every day like you claim, they wouldn't be pooping in their crates. You were simply feeding/watering them. Period. You were storing them and keeping them alive. That's hoarding. You care enough to give them food, but you don't see that their living conditions were totally and completely unfit for ANY living creature? That's (to me) undeniable evidence of dire need of mental help and I truly, sincerely, hope you get it, and I do hope that any unsuspecting co-owners who might exist have the opportunity to get their dogs back.

The New Zion shiloh kennel in New York state has a license that allows them to keep (I think) 40 dogs. They have a staff of 5 people that come in daily. to look after the dogs. The place is clean, except for the odd turd here and there. You certainly don't see feces caked to the floors like in those photos!!

Edited to add: the dogs are in kennels, too, with both indoor and outdoor runs, not crated.

I'm sorry Dawn but there is no way to justify the conditions  shown in those photos.  In my opinion it would of been criminal if your Animal Control had not seized the dogs and left them there.

A former board member here, DDR_DSH made a claim of how much she loved her dogs, how well cared for they were. While I do think the seize of the dogs, the way the ASPCA handled things and the like was not properly carried out, I also find it hard to believe that the conditions of the home was from a short term problem. Everyone says their dogs are loved, well cared for. No one would ever say "I missed a few cleaning days, and I have favorite dogs who get more attention than the others" when questions of their facility came up.

The cognizant hiding of it to those she trained with, to me, is the most telling. If you're making a conscious effort to hide something, you know it's wrong. You can't plead ignorance. This is a hoarder. Hope she gets help and people pay more attention in the future if she ends up with any other living thing in her care.

From all the reports I've read & info from those that are more involved in this....
The house in the video/photos, the one that the dogs were kept at, was NOT being lived in. Dawn had another residence she lived at.
Not justifying or excusing anything, just putting the additonal info out there as many on here seem to think she lived at that house.
