Rik..are you really serious calling me a puppy mills??? One litter a year is puppy mill to you?? My last litter was 3 years ago.  So I guees with all the champions you have produce you must have a very BIg puppy mills youlself..

Remind me that when I would like sound stupid..I will try to sound like you!!
And stop trying to compare..for me It doesn.t mean shit if you have produce 100 champions or 3..doesn't make you a better or worse breeder..just makes you a better winner.  There is a lot of dogs that are winning in the ring that I would never breed to.  I doesn't make your dog healthy or sound because they are champions.  YOU SAID you only had shit with Am. Bred, so I must conclude you have not produced well or you are simply very unlucky! I've tried to look for your champions on the internet with no success..only one on this database and we don't even have all the pedigree..ah and no HIP or Elbows certification either..no wonder maybe you had problems!

So in conclusion..I don't care what you think about me or the Am. bred shepherd..i like them and i am not going to change my mind because of you Rik..I personnaly thinkl the Am bred are the most beautiful...but beauty is in the eye of the beholder..maybe YOU think otherwise.

So stop insulting me it just passeS 10 foot over my head..i simply don't care..i will still breed my Am. Bred..and If I want to by a W/L I will..and If I want to breed it I will..see I 'm not stuck in a position..I love all GSD..and I have own all kind working and shows..they all have their differences and are all wonderful to me..

July, you want my dogs, I posted my first bred CKC Champion and am waiting on your first one. Then another one from me.
After you kick my ass on CKC champions, we can start on AKC.

I wasn't "unlucky". I did pretty well.

Are you saying that an "authority" on Am. s/l such as yourself can't put a hillbilly redneck from the heart of dixie to shame.

This board is great. Where else can you find experts on Show Lines who don't actually show any dogs. Or experts on W/L who don't actually work any dogs.

I think they should change the name of this board from "Pedigree Data Base" to "Faker Data Base".

Oh, and as far as hips and elbows, temperament, etc. all my dogs met the requirements of AKC/CKC Champion.

Probably over your head, but I'm sure some can see my point.

That means..no requirements on temperament HIP or Elbows..exactly what I said so your dogs we're not certified! (CKC/AKC).

I will say it again..a championship doesn't make your dog healthy or good for breeding..it simply say that they have correct conformation and they have win over some other dogs to get there.  Doesn't make you a good breeder either as I know breeders who are winners in the ring but that I would never purchase a dog from them.

If you had that much success..why are you so bitter Rik??

Rik doesn't sound bitter to me, as much as plain old disgusted.   He's made an interesting challenge to the Ambred-show line devotees.  (No accent mark, because there is none on this site. ).  Even more interesting is the fact that the challenge goes begging from the "defenders."

july--I don't understand what you are saying here:  "exactly what I said so your dogs we're not certified."   What is it that  you and Rik are  not certified on?

I have another query for anyone:   If one is not showing gsds that they breed, and not training/titling them in anything (even AKC/CKA OB),
why  would one breed gsds at all?  Simply to breed pets?  If so, how does that help the breed in any manner, whatever lines one is using?  Just curious...

Rik says:  and as far as hips and elbows, temperament, etc. all my dogs met the requirements of AKC/CKC Champion.

AKC/CKC have no requirements and he sais That his dogs met them..no so hard..if your dog is registered..he has all the requirements needed..

For your question Mystere...If someone is not attending any events Show/sch/OB/ herding etc..and is not interested in learning more or get involved than they should not breed IMO..

Oh, I think we know the answer to that one, Mystere!  $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Or perhaps the old, time-honoured excuse for irresponsible breeding: "We wanted to show the kids the 'miracle of life!'"

"Another piece of fiction is that a drivey dog can't be a well behaved dog."

Not a fiction that I believe in, but I tend to think (not sure and not critical) that a greater percentage of high drive GSD's need greater expertise in handling.

It is just true that many WL that I have tried to get just are not good looking and don't move gracefully enough. Just that, and very important to me and a lot of people.

"trophy wife"

There is nothing wrong with a trophy wife when polygamy is legal, socially accepted, and domestically managable.

Plus, a lot of people are very happy with a trophy wife. A trophy wife can still be affectionate and heathy, just generally not very able, I believe. In this case a trophy wife may well cost less to acquire.

I will always have an American Showline, they are they most beautiful and graceful line.

"Please stop rationalizing with the BS like home sizes. "

Smaller home size generally implies greater population density. Greater population density means that there is greater chance that a kid can stray into your yard.

The same goes for the need for cover on swimming pools etc.

"A GSD is NOT a pretty picture put here for you to look at, it's a WORKING dog first and foremost.  You don't dumb down a breed just so you can sell more puppies to the clueless. "

May be the GWD, German Working Dog,  is NOT a pretty picture put here for you to look at, it's a WORKING dog first and foremost.

A GSD can be a beautiful pet, first and foremost, of good health and just stable and affectionate temperament. Why not?
