PLEASE... don't tell me that you are referring to another post?   I usually enjoy your posts and find them very  knowledgeable.  SOME people remain a true "friend", even if they don't "support" decisions made by another.

IMO, there isn't any person worthy of being revered....let alone, being put on a pedestal.

RESPECT is hard earned..........friendship should be easier obtained.

 Some people choose friends unwisely. And if you get burned too as others do by your "true" friend, then you get what you asked for. Some people are very confused about what is a real friend. It is not someone who steals from others, in any way. It is not someone who "defends" someone who steals or commits crimes. And in every state of the union, larceny is a crime. 

Mystere, there was an arrest warrant issued, for what it is worth. There is also a lot more to the story and it probably will come out in time and some people here are going to be really silent then......as usual in such cases. One only need a little common sense here.

You must be a very lonely person......sad.     I personally feel blessed everyday that I have the special friends in my life that I do.  They are human, make mistakes, piss me off ...and...yes...even do some really unimaginable things!...that I personally, would/will never condone.  But I am still their "friend"..........do you even know what a "friend" is?.......do you even have a "true friend"?   Who are you to judge ANYONE?  

If my child breaks the law.......I would personally turn them in.    If my friend breaks the law......then, they deserve the punishment that be- falls them.   But,.. to not care, or turn my back on a friend, when the bottom reaches the top........that would make me a hypocrite, and the worse type of human being.........

I hope nothing tragic happens to you in your lifetime............being lonely, is sometimes worse than being alone.

Common sense is oneof many good traits,  I am graced to have plenty of.........thank you.

BS. Your sentiments are maudlin. But if that is how you want to live your life, fine.

For what it is worth, I know who I am, have many friends, have had much tragedy in my life that I have overcome, am not lonely or alone, and probably never will be.

I could not guess what you do or do not have as character traits, nor do I have one bit of interest in you. It is for you to decide to "stand by" your man or your "friends", whoever they are. Likewise, it will be for the courts to find the truth in the matter and if the allegations are as stated (and there are many not stated here), then be my guest and stand up again for someone who brings discredit not only to herself, but to the breed and breeders as a whole.  

There is another guy recently discussed here who has a few friends standing by him too, even though it is clear he starved dogs entrusted to him and even had one die in his custody. They knew about these things and stood by and did nothing. The fact that no one sees these issues as serious is pathetic.

Not sure why it was posted on another thread, but thought it looked good, with the pretty big blue writing.

I rather enjoyed this ‘debate’, Baby Eagle, but time to put it to bed? In an arena as this it’s also very hard to treat with various issues in other than in a very simplistic way – or reductionism? As said, democracies come in umpteenth flavors; the early Greeks, Athenians in particular, experimented with successive sorts. (Larger part of populace though, was in fact always vote-less.) Their many reservations hold true in modern times: the corrupting influence of personal wealth, that least qualified/competent would be keenest to stand for public office, and, how politicians might promise anything whatsoever just in order to get elected, being but some. You make much of written Bill of Rights etc but many Western Democracies happily do without, relying for protection of personal freedoms instead on the common law (only to see politicians destroy them insidiously via statute law!) And, the moment you commit relevant rights to ‘black and white’ you also create certain problems and two in particular: first, in a changing world, it’s impossible to cover everything, and second, definition plagues eternal (with the clever finding loopholes, its real ‘spirit’ often made naught, and whole matter then ending up in Supreme Court regardless). Believe me, ancient Romans didn’t need a written Constitution: both the lowborn and patricians were supremely well informed as to how things were supposed to proceed. (They variously also enjoyed ‘tribunes of the plebs’ endowed with powerful veto rights; come in mighty handy today!) You say: “A democracy is where 51% of the people can destroy the rights of 49% of the people, but in our constitutional republic, 99% of the people cannot legally destroy the constitutional rights of 1% of the people.” As such, not true at all, BabyEagle: merely a question of how particular electoral system/ electorates, checks and balances etc or different levels of government are structured. The Romans for instance, stuck most of the common folk into just a few ‘tribes’ in order to limit their voting power. As for the rest, I completely agree, Governments themselves are the worst offenders of anything you care to name - no argument on that score!

Survey after survey in Scandinavian countries produces the same outcome, showing these folk as far less preoccupied with tax rates per se than with quality of services and benefits received in return. Not to mention accompanying lies! And if the US had its way I think they’d turn the whole world into one armed camp! Back to the Romans: they learned the hard way that training/arming foreigners (Spain was prime example) inevitably meant latter taking local control by force, and/or battling them further down the line to restore the balance. “Warned you of the dangers of government spending. Now your growing national debt stands at 8 trillion dollars and your babies are debt slaves from the day they are born.” “Debt slaves” sounds extreme. It’s also true that people get the sort of Government they deserve. Basic solution lies in a better education system, and thus choosing better leaders. “Warned you of the dangers of a private Central Bank (The Fed) and a debt-based monetary system. Now you drown in credit card debt as you lose your homes to foreclosure.” Far too easy credit is a worldwide and systemic problem, well in the West anyway. Also, consumers are now of a different mindset from earlier generations, being conditioned toward instant satisfaction in all things! We definitely need improved regulation over financial markets and related institutions (hedge funds included). “Warned you to obey the Constitution because power corrupts. Now a secretive government can spy on you and detain you at will under the guise of ‘National Security’.” The ‘war on terror’ handed Western Governments perfect pretext to curtail personal freedoms. (While boosting own supposed standing with voters!) The Romans were very alert to corrupting influence of power: Consuls only held sway for one year, and then in tandem only. “Warned you of the dangers of political parties. Now you have two powerful parties that conspire against the people, plundering you while they pretend to oppose each other.” I loathe two-party system: membership of the same elite club, occasionally switching between associate and fellow status as suits, whilst both pursue the same precious middle ground. “Warned you to keep your nation sovereign and independent. Now you submit to the UN and NAFTA authority as your borders are deliberately left open to endless illegal immigration.” US only pays lip service to the UN. And where would domestic slaves and other cheap labor come from if it weren’t for illegal immigration? Aiding Mexico’s economy etc might help too! “Warned you to be distrustful of government. But you believed the sugarcoated falsehoods of ambitious politicians and now you no longer know who to trust or what to believe.” Ain’t the truth!
