YR, you took that all the way out there! I think Maggs was just referring to a well-known saddle pattern for the general public to recognize vs. the sable pattern which does give a more wolfish look, contrary to the popular ideal .

I don't give a tinkers damn what colour the dog is. All I want is a GSD to look like and act like the GSD is supposed to. If it is a showline, great! if it is a working line, great! As a buyer, I can throw my money to which ever breeder I choose. And I choose to give it to those that breed dogs according to the STANDARD.
If all other buyers did the same, than ony the good breeders would survive because as many have stated, the pet buyers buy the majority of ANY breeders puppies. It's as simple as that folks, don't over think it.
If your next dog is going to be a hock walking roached back can opener that has no drives resembling that of a German Shepherd, than you have learned absolutely nothing, and likely never will. And yes, that is your choice as sad as that may be for this wonderful breed.
Nuff said.

Excuse me girls...the poster of this thread put up a thread about HEIDELBerg KENNELS in HOUSTON < TEX>>>Spring, Tex...not what you two are off on...
GO read the first page....Yes we are responsible for what we recommend as a breeder...The American kennel the poster started this thread about breeds dogs that walk on their legs, and show in the ring for years are inbred....and have faults that would fill a wheel barrel...Beetree . The kennel mentioned is not one to be on a list of the proper structure for anything.
Maggie Mae made a stat ment I do not agree with....the poster is asking and bringing to the point that this man who owns this kennel says he breed to complete perfection. At that point many have put up pics and points showing exactly what this kennel the poster Michael brought to the forefront..It is not the kind of german shepherd anyone needs to buy..Your showline dog is not the questionable one on this thread..the ones from the Kennel Michael posted about..I know all about that kennel...and a lot you don't want to know about.
Neither one of you are familiar with Gene Thompson or Heidleberg...that is what this thread is about...breeding to what is suppose to be bred.....MM said it is not a right to tell people what or how to buy or breed.
Every shepherd that Heidleberg takes into the ring walks on its hocks, wobbles to and fro and comes from his years of fooling the people who think because his kennel name is Heidelberg he is breeding shepherds from Germany or stock that is of correct standards..
I opened this thread not to post until I saw who Michael was showing you people the kennel of horrors...
Yes , there is every reason to call these dogs the names they are called..Your comment that we are all out to doom the showlines is false...Preston is in the showline venue but he knows what the last 10 yrs of downfalls have been in breeding and the judges looking right past the faults so obvous that they are not getting corrected...
It is our right to recommend proper breeding of proper dogs in our breed and keep people from thinking what this posted posted in the first post on the first page is acceptible.
The thread is way off the course....It is a laugh for Heidelberg to even print on his advertisements NEAR PROFECTION>.

YEs, I know Gene Thompson very well..I prosecuted with Turbyville, the Ast Da of Houston, one of his trainers....a liar, thief and got 3 felonies out of 5 awarded to him We dealth with Kennel Heidelberg for years in our area...the complaints were so numerous you could cover the Houston courthouse with them
Seems that is enough for me... I walked his place three times with an investigator and the K9 officer of Harris Co SO who went to work there , undercover to see the horrible way he breeds and the unethical way he frauds people with registrations on dogs that they never ever even get..YOu have to abide by his LAWS>..
Like gsdtravels...posted...20 yrs later here in Tyler, I have had people come to me for a pup and they just took back a pup bought 5 weeks prior sick and when they took to vet...the vet ask them to return the pup and find a breeder who doesn't require you to FEED the FISH bait he sells for food or your warranty is not good if pup get sick..after all if you dont feed his food it will have hip dysplasia from other dog food......HO HOHOHOHOHOHO>
\
YEs , I know this kennel very well and can give you all the people in Houston that can verify it ..call any long time vet ..that is still in business..
Ask any K9 officer in Houston- Gal. Area..Ask my vet Dr. Venhaus here in Tyler, Tex...
I offered the explaination that LAVK9 quoted from the website of the said kennel that this POST is about...AMerican bred gsd that do not heed the proper structure.... and the website was looked at and many are giving their opinions.
SInce none of you have been on the premises and dealth with Gene, like I have and also AKC . who has relayed to me how many complaints they have received when they found out I live in Texas., I believe I am better qualified to say that what LAVDK9 and wrestleman and others including Preston and MYstere, have atoned to.....ARE ALL CORRECT....
YR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT DOG YOU OR BT BUY OR HAVE...IT IS FACTS.
