JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Israel on Sunday rejected  Africans -- most of them reportedly from Sudan's Darfur region -- who had illegally entered the country from Egypt, a government official said.

The move angered many Israeli lawmakers and human rights advocates because of reports that some Sudanese refugees are being killed or mistreated by authorities in Egypt.

According to Israel's Haaretz newspaper, the refugees were arrested Friday evening as they tried to cross from Egypt into Israel. They were held at a military base in southern Israel before being driven back to Egypt on Sunday, the newspaper reported.

Simply put.  Colin Powell is black.  He has endorsed the first black man that is a major parties candidate. SURPRISED?  Powell has always been and was always known to lean towards the "left".  He was always in favor of "quota's" for hiring, back in the day when he was somebody.  The minute he gave his endorsement I told my wife that he obviously has been offered a deal or job by Obama.   The next day Obama gives a statement that he would be honored to have Powell as one of his Primary Advisors, if Powell wants it.  Talk about power.  How much can you make in this business world having the title of "Primary Advisor" to the President.  Powell DID WAIT though, before endorsing Obama, until Obama had this election locked up before he strutted out to endorse him.  I find it amusing that the Powell endorsement carries weight anyway, especially with you Dems. as Powell was the front man for the war in Iraq.  Powell was the most influential and seen person in the Bush administration, on the air pushing for the invasion of Iraq.  He stated that it is imperative that we invade Iraq.  He was the one person who convinced Congress that they should vote for invading Iraq.  A direct contradiction to what all of you Obama kool aid drinkers stand for.  Especialy Obama himself.  It has been his main policy and judgement statement about himself.  That he was against this war from the beginning.  Now he wants to make as his Primary Advisor the one guy who was out there making the case more forcfully than anyone else in the Bush administration that we needed to invade Iraq.  What is Obama saying about Powell's "judgement"?  What does it say about Obama's judgement now?

If someone votes  for someone (or hires them )because of the color of their skin, or because of their gender, without regard to qualifications that make one suitable for office or the job, then that is STUPIDITY. Sadly, just as you cannot write a cogent argument and only spout crap, there are others like you who would vote in such a manner. 

As for Powell, he presented information at the request of George W. Bush's administration that has been PROVEN, over and over, to have been based on false intelligence, and outright fabrication or purposeful misunderstandings. There was NO reason to invade Iraq.

Powell was one of the few stellar people in the Bush administration, but he got out gracefully. He is an excellent man, and a no-brainer as to including him in some capacity in any administration worth a damn.  Had he supported McCain, he might well have ended up in McCains' administration. But McCain will not win. He endorsed Obama for a lot of reasons, none which have anything to do with color of skin. To suggest otherwise is pure stupidity.

General Powell was always known as a Dove.  Most experienced military are. For they know the horrors of War. It is the Chickenhawks,.... like Cheney, Bush, Perle, Wolfowitz, Liebermann, Gaffney, Wurmsur, Ledeen, Kristol, Podhoretz, Zekheim, Feldman et al that Pimp these wars for Israel.

The Republicans have been in charge of the presidency for the past eight years and in charge of Congress for six of the eight years. In this period:

The national debt has increased from $5.7 trillion to over $11 trillion. The debt service on this increased debt will make a dent in our annual budget for years to come.

We invaded a country based on false intelligence - it has cost us hundreds of billions of dollars and numerous lives lost both American and Iraqi.

Bush inherited an economy that was slowing down but in relatively good shape from Clinton - heck we actually had a budget surplus in the last couple of years of Clinton's presidency - and eight years later we are confronted with the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

Any leader/party with a record such as this should be thrown out of office.

McCain's economic policies are the same as that of Bush. He is even more of a neo-con than Bush. For someone his age and in his state of health to select as his nominee an individual for VP who is as unqualified as Sarah Palin shows appalling judgement. What would happen if he died in office in his first year? The idea of Palin as president is laughable!

Heck, even well known conservatives such as George Will, David Brooks, David Frum, Peggy Noonan,  Kathleen Parker, Michelle Laxalt, Chris Buckley, etc have made it clear that Palin is not qualified. There are others who feel that way but are constrained from saying so. McCain screwed up his first major decision - selecting a VP nominee.

Obama has his limitations but as Charles Krauthammer - another conservative and neo-con - said of Obama: he has a first class intellect and first class temperament. If he wins and can run his administration half as well as he ran his campaign, the contrast to the charlatan we have in office today will be a pleasure to behold!
