I think anything that can be done ANYWHERE is a good thing, but we should clean up our own act, first.

I have spent time in Turkey, and it is not an impoverished place. People are generally reasonably educated and not horribly poor. This is just a bad situation -- what it looks like.

Desert Rangers: I can't tell if you are being sarcastic. The US is dropping a lot of bombs, and we are pretty much led by Christians. I assume we all know this, so were you joking? No need to answer, as this thread got very vulgar and I don't plan to return to it.

DR-you have to admit. You and I ARE rednecks. We don't wilt like a daisy at a few off-color words. We can scrap with the best of them. We don't kiss up to people to make us seem civilized. I'm willing to bet that in that last month neither one of us stood and saluted during the playing of the national anthem for either England or France; or ate a sauteed instead of fried frog leg; been impressed with a legislator wearing a powdered wig; or screamed like Jaimee Curtis at the thought of a fistfight.

One thing you may not be aware of Sunsilver. If you try to set yourself up as a moral guidepost when it is unsolicited it won't take long for someone to point out that pesky beam in your eye. Maybe a novel concept for a Canadian but quite mundane for us.
