This partner of her's Christopher Cella is missing? Hiding because of outstanding warrants? He is hiding in plain sight. If you want him, look to where she is and he is there also. He is not man enough to be without her.

Momma,
That is an interesting observation about C. Cella, very interesting indeed. !
Yes he is "missing' police are looking for him.
He has prior warrants and now this ... nice people we have with this kennel...geez.

maybe the report of dogs being boarded or leased is just a ruse to make things more difficult for the authorities. If I was one of the owners, I would keep it real quiet.

Victory,

As I stated above, I do not condone the condition the dogs were kept in, no matter the reason.
What does concern me & should concern any dog owner, is how backhanded & sneaky this whole ordeal has been handled. This may just set how future "rescues" are allowed to proceed, what the legalities are, & what rights owners have.

Picture this.... you have your dog being boarded overnight at a kennel due to you being out of town. For some reason the kennel gets raided(for any little reason) & all dogs taken. Now you show up, proving you are the legal & rightful owner, yet your are not allowed to get your dog. Even worse, because your dog was a nice looking purebred, it's already been adopted out to friends of the shelter...good luck getting it back now.

So I'm not so much defending Dawn, as I'm against how this whole senario has gone down & played out up til now.
As you said time will tell & hopefully the legal system works in favor of the dogs.

Susie,
Yes there have been actual legal, rightful owners coming forward, with proof of ownership. They have been turned away & not allowed to get their dogs back, according to reports.

I think sometimes that I watch too much TV but it made total sense to me. If you profile this couple, he is with her. If the authorities really want him, they need only to find her.

Given that all of these dogs either are microchipped or are tattoed this should be the way to look for any "owners".AKC and SV are the first way to go.
But I doubt that there are more than a handful, and I´m not even sure all of them even want to get them.
I think (co)ownerships were made ( if they were made ) about puppies DV promised to raise and show, no heartblood involved on the co-owner´s side.
Maybe one or two brood bitches, "used" by several breeders...
All of this is only a guess, but this whole story drives me crazy ( and this is no Ameican, but a world wide problem - people trying to make money out of living creatures without ethics ).Angry Smile

Northwood, just read your post - I really think it´s a nightmare for all parties involved.
If I had seized these dogs I wouldn´t believe anybody claiming anything right now.
I hope right now the dogs went to good places, see some sun, and are able to walk and play.
If there are legal owners, they will get their dogs back, the United States are no outlaw country ...
But really, who should give a dog why to her? i doubt these dogs even KNOW their owners...

Northwoods you have your facts wrong. She was initially charged with only one count when she was cooperating and had surrendured the dogs. Then she laweryed up and rescinded the surrender of the dogs. I'm sure she will be charged with many counts. The dogs are in the care of the shelter by court order. They may be at a different location, I don't know, but they are in the care of the shelter.
If you think what is shown in the pictures happened in 36 hours you need to go look again. This took many months to happen. Pictures don't lie. I guess you are ok with this abuse?
If you really have legal documentation as to ownership of the dogs the courts will order the dogs surrendured to you or whoever has legal documentation. But you don't.

Northwoods,
I do take your point.  We have all seen and heard the nightmares of gov't or AC seizures, fines etc without merit, and
runaway abuse.   Totally get that, and totally hate it.
But again, given the HORRENDOUS conditions in which these dogs were found  (again I reference the photos released
to the public , yesterday) could YOU , would you have walked away, shut the door and figured..."oh let me get back to you"
You also had a home owner/ landlord that called the authorities to begin with , well within her rights and I hope she sues
for damages to her property.
I don't blame law enforcement or animal control for taking immediate steps to get them out of that hell.  Again see photos.

This is not a case of AC (Animal Control) harassing or weilding too much power against a GOOD, RESPOSIBLE owner/breeder
of a given species of animal  .  The photos bear out, that the conditons were utterly filthy.
Northwoods, would I be happy to have a dog of mine found in a shelter?  NO I would be frantic.
Would I be happy that my rhetorical dog was gotten out of those unforgivable , awful conditions..
ABSOLUTELLY.

If there are in fact LEGITIMATE owners, etc, then they will be handled at the court date, as long as there are no
court imposed delays.   Again, Dawn Verdeschi/ Jagr and Christopher Cella have EVERY OPPORTUNITY to
provide correct /legitimate names and contacts for owners, and i.d for dogs.  They are not.

okay again too much TV but put his photo up...someone at a hotel or a Cumberland Farms will recognize him. If you really want him put his photo out to the public. To the sheriff department: You will find him if you really want to find him. Too much TV but it tells me you are slaken.
