A court of law is judicial entity (not administrative - such as a club or corporation) with certain rules of process and standards of finding - such guilty beyond reasonable doubt (i.e. 99% or more certain - used in criminal proceeding) or preponderance of evidence (50% or more certain - used in civil case) as well as other standards such as probably cause, etc.
The issue here is that someone well intentioned is mistaking one forum for another. Legal standards of evidence have no place in an *administrative* forum - which is where organizations find facts, make decisions, assign administrative reprimands, etc. Uwe, while well intentioned if every organization or corporation (or even the US military) had to adhere to legal burdens of proof for every decision nothing would ever get done. While you may personally choose to mis-apply legal standards to administrative actions of an organization suggesting that everyone else do the same is wrong. Within in an organization action CAN be taken for only what you know the person/persons/entities in question are not facing criminal punishment or civil liability they havent even broken a law theyve infracted upon club rules which have no legal bearing outside the organization. By virtue of voluntarily participating in a club one is subjecting themselves to its rules decisions and process. Should someone not care for those things they are free to leave the organization anytime they wish.
I think that you have the best intentions but are misguided in this matter. Your employer can fire you any time for an infraction (or perceived infraction) of a rule regardless its the same thing - administrative process and not judicial.

Read E-ballot 25-06. Clubs suspension was upheld. John Oliver tried to bring it up at the National meeting and was shot down.
