Enjoy this interview with, among others, the current mayor of Wasilla, who says "unequivocally YES" to being Wasilla mayor qualifiying one to be Veep:

Until Palin, I thought Wasilla was a venereal disease.

Mickey D:  I'm very old & haven't looked at the constitution since high school or maybe college, it's been so long I don't remember!  So Thanks for bringing this up.  Maybe I'm looking at a different Article II section 1, but when I look up Article ll, Section 1 speaks to the electoral college and it says:

Article. II.

Section. 1.

Clause 1: The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows

To me,  The duties as written in the constitution are not contradictory.  I don't think it's out of line to expect someone who wants a job to have at least have a basic understanding of what that job is.  Sarah Palins inability to get this right not once but twice, tells me she has no clue what the VP does and doesn't really care either.

RPK I was talking about the collective "supporters", not the specific "supporter"!

Will this be another nail in the coffin for Sarah Palin's approval rating?

It is the $150,000 spent by the McCain campaign on Palin's wardrobe, cosmetics and hair dresser.

www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14805.html

I have never made any secret of my disdain for Palin's lack of qualification to be VP and McCain's judgement in selecting her as his VP nominee but I feel that on this issue she is in a "no-win" situation. If she did not dress appropriately, she would have been criticized for the way she dresses.

I think the real problem Palin faces is that she portrayed herself as the "hockey mom"  who shops at Walmart and so having a $150K wardrobe from places like Nieman Marcus, just smacks of hypocrisy. When this occurs at a time when people are having problems with the economic downturn, it just will rankle with the average voter. Since McCain opted for federal funding for his presidential campaign and received $84 million from the Federal government - tax payers money - it would appear that the tax-payer footed the bill for Palin's extravagant wardrobe.

It just conveys the impression that the McCain campaign is just out of touch with the realities of life that the average American faces.

Hmm! Let's see - none of us are running for VP so the question of our credentials is a non-issue.

by TessJ10 on 22 October 2008 - 16:10

<> We're not running for Vice President of the United States of America! And, unlike Palin, WE know what the VP actually DOES. She has a TERRIBLE resume to be Vice President or President or ANY national-level office.

Kerschberger:  Like others have said, none of us are running for VP, so whether or not we are qualified is a mute point.  I can tell you one thing, I have NEVER not understood the duties of ANY job I have applied for - that would be STUPID   I would NEVER hire someone to work for me that did not have at least a pretty good grasp of what the job entailed  - that would be REALLY STUPID.
