It is effecting our economy in several ways now.
Local boat sales have dropped by more than 90% over last year. This also effects truck and SUV sales.
Charter fishing, shrimpers, commercial fishermen, etc have all but shut down not only here in MS but has started in AL, FL (of course LA has been shut down.
I believe if the well was totally capped tonight the is enough crude oil in the water to kill our marine hatchery grounds for the next several years.
We know the cos. to blame and the Federal Government was unprepared (But I am beginning to wonder how can you be prepared for something that has never happened before?) I certainly am not giving Obama and his bunch a way out. Because if they had listened to the Governors of the Gulf States they would have been able to move faster. Who know their needs the best? Those closest to home.
BUT THE ENTIRE MESS IS SICKENING. . . PEOPLE OF GOD PRAY THAT SOLUTION IS FOUND QUICKLY.

But, the current group mentality in Washington is all about government, who's in control and who profits. It's clear none of them actually care about life. So in this case, restrictions apply. Phhssstt !!
The American people could have stopped this madness long already. We got to the moon didn't we ? Why not a mile below water ? lol DUH !!!
It's a sin to even allow these illegal bureaucracies in America. Look how it ends up. More death and distruction.
Beside BP. Does anyone even know who owns that NALCO and who increased their shares in the past couple months ? .. then check out who the subsidiaries are. You people should do some research, because it's staggering.

The local news stations are showing partial oil capture. However, huge amounts are still escaping. The LA marshes which are the main estuaries for Gulf marine life are now so heavily covered with oil up in the Needle Grass, Reeds, and other plant cover; that the concern is now how will it affect the aquatic life in brackish water.
Forget about the fishing tourism dollar in LA, unless it is to see the oil slicks.
When a hurricane hits (no matter the strength) and pushes this oil up into the Atchafalaya Basin all ecological hell will break loose. Some say it will never happen - PLEASE explain the word "NEVER" to BP and OBAMA. They better get ready. IT IS HURRICANE SEASON.
Here in MS we're feeling more and more anger from all of the citizens as tar and oil is was washing ashore. However, our Shrimpers are still running for now in certain water. But they know they will be closed soon. So they are up arms as well.
The Feds first said they would hire the local fishermen to help with putting out boons etc. NOW the are breaking their promises: Seems you have to have a certain type boat, certain license, belong to certain group, list goes on and on.
Story is the same out of AL and FL. WHEN SHOULD WE BELIEVE THE FEDS ANYWAY.
The whole purpose of hiring locals was to help minimize their losses. Well bend over once again, Obama and his cronies have arrived.
"WHERE IS HOLLYWOOD AND NASHVILLE NOW, PLANNING "SAVE THE GULF BENEFITS AND CONCERTS"?
I DON'T THINK SO - OH YEAH, THIS IS AMERICA NOT HAITI (JUST WHAT IN THE HECK AM I THINKING!!!!

We are the ones who must live here. THEY WILL WALK AWAY ONE DAY . . . GO BACK TO THEIR IVORY TOWERS CLOSE THE BLINDS FACING THE SOUTH AND ACT AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED.
BUT . . . I SAY THEY SHOULD GET SO. LOUISANA PRISON CELLS WITH SOUTHERN FACING WINDOWS WITH NO BLINDS. SAND PAILS AND BUCKETS AND BE IMPRISONED. MADE TO WORK ON A CHAIN GANG UNTILTHEY HAVE CLEANED IT UP OR UNTIL THEY DIE, WHICH EVER COMES FIRST.
