Think for yourself, ask for evidence to support a claim, voice your own opinion is the definition of a troll here unfortunately, get used to it.

And to think.... I started this thread by ACCIDENT...lol .... and it has 110 replies.

Since I am the one that started this thread, although by accident, as I was meaning to do a SEARCH for Drago I am going to comment...

I have a Drago pup. Did I get him because his sire was Drago.. NO! I got him because he fit what I was looking for in a pup, His dad just happened to be Drago vom Patriot. Would I have gotten a pup sired by a male no one knew and out of a dam no one knew.. HELL YES!... and in a HEART BEAT.... As long as he was what I was looking for. My pup, who is now 14 months old, has solid nerves, nice prey drive, is easy to train, lives to please, has high food/toy drive, retains what he learns and is a quick learner. I was looking for a dog that I could do club level IPO and maybe Regional level if I decided to venture that far. After talking to Ice's breeder as well as other people who know the dam to Ice. I felt that this was the litter that I wanted a pup from. Ice was 13 weeks when I got him. I have also talked to someone, that came to my clubs trial last year, who has taken bite from Drago personally. He told me that Drago had full, hard, calm grips and dominates the helper. He also told me that Drago had very upbeat, happy, OB and wanted to work with his handler.... Afterall, protection is not the "be all end all"... there are 2 OTHER PHASES to IPO. I personally like to watch the dogs in the A and B (tracking and OB) phase first before I watch them work in the C (protection) phase. I can tell alot about a dog in how they track and do OB.

In closing on my opinion... and to answer about Drago.... we will not truely know how Drago, or any other dog for that matter, produces until they are long gone..and several generations have passed.

This is just my 2 cents..

Twinmacs, I am with OGBS you don't seem to care for Bomber & Drago.  Would really like see some of your dogs, breedings, progeny and you working them? Look forward to seeing.

Thanks

Bamadawd1 have you seen somewhere that my dogs are among the best working dogs in the world??? I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for proving my point!!! ( I don't even say my dogs are even good but you ask me for proof) I would not say such a thing because I have not got the evidence to prove it.

I enjoy training my dogs, will I ever compete at top level competitions who knows maybe not, does this mean I am not allowed have an opinion?? but I can promise you if I do compete and if I feel my dogs are among the top working dogs I will be advertising them but only when I can back it up. Would you not be better asking for evidence of dogs who do say they are among the best working dogs with no proof??

So why not drive down (or up, wherever you are) and work the dog? Or see the dog work? Instead of putting him down? Just wondering, because it seems you like to put them down because you just don't understand why they're used so much.....

And kinda funny about the Europe thing.... since a lot have done repeats a year ago..... and want to repeats again.

Seems there are a few people getting defensive and there is really no reason for it.  Wonder why is that?  Hmmmmmmmm. Wink Smile

I think Twinmacs could in some aspects be getting a bum rap, everyone has the right to their opinion and he seems to be only asking WHY does everyone like Drago so much and I think all of us should ask ourselves the same and to his credit he did bring up a dog that seems to be very nice also and we have since learned that dog could now be in the states also, it would be nice to find more out about him if hes being used as stud and if hes producing as well as Drago,I myself am a Drago fan, do I think he is perfect no,would I want a pup from him yes and do,everyone has their idea what they want in a dog, some of my own concerns about Drago are his large size, producing possible excessive vocals,Elbow genitics, speed and I have no Idea about carrying DM,thoses that know know more than I should list his Sire and Dam side for this,I believe it was Pike an Uncle to Drago had two offspring on working dog EU,that had were listed as less than perfect elbows even though still a passing grade,OFA to me seems harder to get a passing grade than the SV has in place for elbows so if anyone comes up with a failure in elbows or hips from offspring of Drago please let us know so we can all try to figuire out if its comming from Drago side or the female side that Drago was bred to,lets not forget also that Drago is a 97 pound male and with that he could loose some speed, mobility, agility that comes with a large dog,his Sire Nox to me veiwing a video of Nox seemed to have a hugh, bulky body with what appeared to be legs on the shorter side and for some thats what they like(very large), but I,m a fan of speed and mobility, that said Drago seems to move well for being large I think his spirit is there to want to move fast because of his high drives and good attitude.

100% everyone has a right to their opinion. Absolutely no dog is perfect. Some are better than others. I like the other dog mentioned as well. There's a good bit of nice males out there right now, both in the States and in Europe. But the reason people go to Bomber (or did, I don't think Parrish is allowing outside breedings anymore) and Drago is what they're producing, as well as the power they possess. Yes Drago is a bigger dog, packs a mean hit, and has unbelievable speed for his size. But being able to consistently produce with different bitches is pretty impressive; definitely stamps his pups. It's not just protection, that's only part of it. Drago is very impressive in obedience, have seen him track several times and he's a nice methodical tracker as well. As far as his scores at the LGA, everyone has a bad day; and anyone here that thinks their dog won't screw up on occasion is full of themselves. But I believe to judge a dog, try to see the dog work, or work the dog, or talk to some of the best helpers in the country who have worked the dog; and see what the dog is producing.

Funny Hutchins, always seem to pop up and try to start drama....... very typical of you "Nona".
