wow. i have a bridge you may be interested in buying. what she says on her website is she started titling in the US in 1962 with NASA. A BRIEF HISTORY OF SCHUTZHUND IN THE USA:
http://www.germanshepherds-r-us.com/HistoryofSchutzhundinUSA.html
AND YEAH, we sure are predictable when it comes to critisizing someone who would be so negligent as to not have a child under 100% supervision while a dog is on the field with the helper. that's basically child endangerment - unless of course it's one of tinas super-duper push button light switch magical dogs. couldn't be another bullshit sales pitch story to go with the trumped up training stories.
Nancy; i should have specified the organization in my original post. also my 'HAHAHA' was for my dumb joke about rocket science, not at you.
added by edit; UScA schH III club lists members back to 1971, but she isn't listed for any year that i could see. after the short lived NASA, UScA was the only organization for some time so if she was titling dogs in the USA, she would have been a member.

You know what, I realized a few posts back that no matter what I say, you are going to pick it to pieces. I have better things to do with my day than sit on the computer.
If you want the full story, I just found the first couple of chapters of her book are avaiable on line, through Google books. (Sorry, if you want a copy, you're too late. The paperback edition is alredy sold out...However, there are some limited edition hardcovers available if you want to shell out anywhere from $150 to 200 bucks.)
Go read the book, pick it to pieces to your heart's content, and if you have any further questions, quibbles, or want to engage in some more nasty insinuations about Tina's truthfulness, her e-mail is mashiloh@aol.com . You might want to put on your flame-proof underwear before you hit 'send', though!
Oh, and the info on NASA is on pg. 8. There's even a picture of Tina with George, and the rest of the club members. The club had its own system for degreeing dogs, which did not match up with the German system and was not accepted by the other clubs.

as if anyone here would shell out $10. much less $100. for some silly fairy tail about mutts. p.t. barnum was right. you seem to think if she dreamed it up then it must be true because you quote her book and her as if she is some sort of authority or expert regarding all things gsd. i can't begin to understand why you would think that should mean something to anyone else.

I have enough bullshit to read through trying to figure out what candidate i'm going to be voting for this year. Why'd I'd pay for it to read, I have no idea. If I didn't buy it to read bullshit, it would have to be for a fantasy tale, which if i'm spending money on would be on a good tale or good movie, not the writings of a crazy woman.

FWIW, the SAR group I first tried to join with the Shiloh-backed dog said, "No Shilohs. Well, okay, we'll meet her, but we've never seen one with a stable temperment."

I think for real work, you don't care about the pedigree - WYSIWYG. Each dog should be taken on its own merit.
