In my experience the discharge and panting usually starts a few days before whelping. It is the cervix dilating, effacing and puppies lining up.

You might be wise to start checking her temp at this point. Make sure you insert the thermometer far enough to get an accurate reading. I always keep some vaseline handy in my pet First Aid kit to use as a lubricant. Plain KY jelly works well too. Just don't use the fancy stuff that will make her all tingly...she probably won't like it!

She's sooooooooo getting spayed quicker then she can blink, this is insane. And had I known all the information this group has been able to provide me, she would have been spayed years ago.
All the pups will be spayed, if I have to keep them until they can be then so be it, no pet should have to go through this nor the ignorant (in the lightest form) owners.
I can't wait for this to be over!!!!! Sunsilver, I didn't catch what you meant first go round lol luckily I don't own any or I would end up being the one to use it lol
