Actually they have the GSDCA logo but they come from the WDA. It doesn't look like USA is accepting them.

Gee Unknown, I didn't realize I'd chosen a moniker that made me so incognito. -Kelly Winkie (Formerly Czaja) Don't worry, Rik has called me names, I put on my big girl pants and move on. ;)

Oh so the scorebooks she was talking about weren't going to be issued by GSDCA?  Why  doesn't GSDCA issue scorebooks since they are members of WUSV?  Seems crazy that GSDCA doesn't issue scorebooks themselves, especially considering they will be hosting the WUSV schH world championship in 2013 (or is that 2012?).  Then WDA members who haven't already joined GSDCA could join and get a scorebook.  Obviously since UScA has to honor other WUSV members, they would accept a scorebook issues by GSDCA.  Seems like this would be the more simple and logical approach.  What am I missing?

It does seem like the JA would make more sense if it applied only to executive officers.  Of course I might not be aware of all the ramifications, but I hope that down the line it's modified.  I feel like the unintended effect of the JA was to drive an even bigger wedge between the two camps, with more working line folks in UScA and more show line folks in WDA than ever before.

Sue,

Good questions. I can't speak for the organizations but it's a complex relationship that has it's own set of personalities. The GSDCA is only involved in Schutzhund through the WDA. I know the GSDCA will be the one sponsoring the World, but it looks like they are handing it over to those in the WDA that know what to do with it. GSDCA scorebooks would need to be monitored and administered by the GSDCA. I'm not sure the GSDCA is prepared or even want to do this. I'm not sure the WDA would appreciate them doing it as schutzhund falls into the WDA territory. Maybe something can be worked out. At least there was an attempt.

The GSDCA scorebooks are simply another example of the subterfuge and dishonesty people are willing to stoop to in order to pimp USCA, rather than simply foregoing the events sanctioned by an organization that they do not want to join or support. So, why not simply make the beloved WDA more responsive to their needs and desires, as their chosen organization?

Mystere,

I think there's a message somewhere in your post. I'm just not able to figure it out. It looks like your message is about organizations. They all have and will continue to have problems, make changes, have problems.

What about the dogs and the people that want to do something with them? Let's face it. The WDA and USA organizations both support the european style dog. Some organizations have more of a presence in certain areas than others. Why not support both?

Pimp the USA???  I never wanted to Pimp the USA, I gave them my membership dues every year and even entered a few trials, did the same with the WDA too.  I didn't want to take adavantage of anyone, and all of those that I knew of that were dual members, which was the majority of people I knew, did it because they wanted to and it gave them more options to trial, which most of us did, and show if they needed to.

The only thing that changed is this amendment that tells me I have to be a loyal soldier.  Since I do helper work and mostly for USA clubs, that's what I went with.  If my club would have stayed dual or with wda, that's who I would have stayed with then.    i sure would be happy if I could go do a trial for my friends in the WDA too.

I'm still waiting to see just how this makes the dog world, our sport or anything "stronger" or better.  Maybe there is a reason, but so far I haven't heard much that convinces me other than old politics at play again.

Randy,

Let me say it again-- those who CHOOSE to be WDA have nothing preventing them from putting on the trials they claim they need and want to use USCA for.    WHY DON'T YOU/THEY?   Could it be because WDA is and always has been primarily a SHOW organization and the people in it don't want to take on the time, effort and money required to put on trials?   Those same people have no apparent problems  bringing in SV judges and koermeisters from Germany for their shows.  Yet, for some reason, they can't put on a trial?  Could it be because the clubs can make money from shows, while trials rarely are money-makers for clubs?   Please explain why WDA does not provide the trials its members seem to need/desire?  Please explain why USCA should provide those services to NON-MEMBERS  (especially thosewho slam the organization whenever they can)?

These people, by and large (there are exceptions, of course) want to ride, without  ever chipping in for the gas.  You make your choice of organization--live with it.  I do.

I think I see where you and I differ. You seem to think there needs to be a choice. My thoughts are why not support both. For years I was a member of multiple German Shepherd organizations. It worked great. What happened and why do we need to only belong to one?

Rather than say I'll put all my eggs in 1 basket and belong to one organization that has some presence in my area. I'll find a way to still participate in both organizations.

There's our difference.
