My black girl I put pic of on the post your Black shepherds, was a girl out of Nick V Lascher-Haus of which Apoli and Ledi Von der Luisenstrasse produced
Nick was bred to Dtiara vom Geigerhaus out of Vedor vom Fourniermublenbach and Quanda v Kirschenschrot with Orthos v Tiekerhook on the bottom of the mother side.
She is all about herding and very super calm temperament but when she goes to work she is drivey and very tough. She is very tough and very very alert to every squirrel, every wild life anywhere withing a block of my place.
But she is gentle as a lamb to her offspring and to kids and other adults..one fine girl...she is my deer meat lover. I have good friends who bring me plenty of deer meat and I feed my females mostly the deer meat.
I use raw several weeks and then use kibble the later part of the month soaking it before putting down as mine all gulp their food.
I also had a lady at Walmart where I buy raw liver, ask who it was for and when I told

you feed a dog raw meat , that blood will make them kill people or other animals.
I had to inform her someone had fed her a real live myth and that was false.
Surely she missunderstood her vet?

Apparently it has brought down some pretty major servers.
You might want to run a virus scan to be sure.

It's all a myth on feeding particular meat =killing.
My dogs would chase and kill (whether accidentally or on purpose in the excitement) any small animal running on the property. It doesn't matter what raw food is fed.
I've never fed them possum (lol) but we rescued a mother possum from their grips and she escaped up a tree to safety. They nearly killed her. However, she had young babies and we managed to save them before they became live play toys, raised and release them.
Rabbits and squirrels have been too fast, but one patient dog waited over a gopher mole hole and caught one & killed it. I never had fed him gopher moles previous either. ;-)

I am tired of the companies changing where they make it and not enough quality control....who know what goes into the dog food....???
I am getting another freezer, so I can do more raw...I am after all a great hunter, even without the one eye...

Ol Roy or any of the other GRAIN BASED foods are the pits!!!!

I thought about feeding the dogs old laying hens, but I don't think I could do the butchering part...and deal with all of the feathers to pluck. I guess they have machines you can buy to de-feather them, but...

I don't mind butchering the meaty leghorns, they are a pain in the a$$, but I do have trouble butchering the laying hens old or not!!!! Sometimes I am glad that the fox got them before I had to do it...the rooster is okay too if it is a mean one, but this one is young yet. My other rooster won't let it in the pen at night, so I had better get it before the fox does....rather save a few bucks for the dogs....lol.
