I think the line in the sand with private corporations was when they pointed out the unemployment that was about to occur without the handouts.  Don't get me wrong - I was and am against the corporate handouts - but when you look at it in terms of the consequences of overnight mass unemployment - the potential for antisocial behavior, property crime, increased drug and alcohol use, depression related murder and suicides, inpact on the social medical system, costs of increased policing and incarcerations, - the social costs to the country might have well been much much higher than the handouts - and much harder to recover from.... I don't agree with it - but I do understand it.

I also understand it on paper.  However the economy is still tanking, the money isn't being handed out yet, so everything you just pointed out is still on the table so to speak.  I am really bothered by czar this and czar that.  The english language is rich in synonyms.  Is there really not a less, COMMUNIST phrase to use?

the economy is still tanking

if our dumb-ss pres would stop spending, it would already be on the mends.............

look at history...........FDR spent, spent and spent even more and what did it get..........the depression...........other presidents even democrat presidents reduced spending and reduced taxes and the problem was solved in short order

I have never supported Keynesian notions of economics - it seems counterintuitive to me, but spendng to get out of a depression or collapse is considered appropriate by many economist must more knowledgable than me. 

I'm still stumped back at the point when this collapse all happened, and I found out for the first time that banks could actually lend money they didn't actually have....  that fact astounded me.....

Exactly.

I just don't understand how people don't get it.  The less taken out of my check means more I'm gonna go spend.  Rich people create jobs.  Yes people, I know they have more money, but the more and more the gov't takes, the less they expand and create the jobs that get the taxes that pay for the highways that we drive our cars on to get to the new job that the rich guy created by paying less taxes that the gov't shouldn't take up there in the white house that our forefathers built.

In reality there is not enough money in any bank to pay out if every person in America were to close their accounts.  There is not enough gold and silver in the world to cover the imaginary inflated numbers in the computers.  Paper is paper and is worth less than a dime.

OBAMA will be out of office i am sure next election as well as most of the democratic congress who started the mess under Bush- Obama will be richer from speeches, books and the like and we will be poorer as a nation for years to come. some will still get thrills up their legs when they see him,  most sane folks will remember him when they deal with hyper-inflation for years to come. he will make his history  as  the socialist fool who ruined the economy - we will pay his salary for life as we do all presidents it just will be more bittersweet.
