What is it that scares people when religion is mentioned. It seems the word GOD makes some on here so fear-full that they must start complaining if someone believes in or mentions religion or GOD. I Just do not understand the fear or is it embarrassment they feel from denouncing GOD and Religion. It is just hard for me to understand the resentment or fear they have. A few months ago there was a National Geographic or History Channel show that talked about Historical findings and Religion. The scientist where all in agreement that Jesus did exist, they did not say he was the son of GOD but that he had existed. I suppose due to all the archaeological findings etc. Then there where all kinds of people bent out of shape about it . They acted scared almost terrified when arguing that all these scientist where wrong .. I just do not understand there actions and what bothers them so much about it.

No one is scared, no one is resentful. We are on the PEDIGREE DATABASE to talk about dogs. I am sure there are religious databases out there, and I would not go on those and post pictures of my dog asking them to critique him. If I did, I'm sure the people on it would say WTF and rightfully so. That is why most people are like WTF when posts like these occur. This is common sense, but it's clearly presumptuous to assume that everyone on here is equipped with it.
This topic should be changed to "Understanding what is the meaning of PEDIGREE DATABASE".

The meaning of life is to live a life with meaning- to make a difference, no matter how small. To use your God given gifts, whatever they may be, in order to impact the lives of others in a positive way. It is not about what we can get for ourselves, but instead about what we can give to improve the lives of others, especially those that don't have.

Wrestleman,
In a similar vein, it's interesting how people get so anxious about thinking that there may not be a God. I try, with great great difficulty at times, to be open to all things, in the hope that I will experience more, even if I do not understand or agree. I like the Keats' concept of 'negative capabililty', i.e. 'not knowing' as a way of being. This for me is one of the beauties of life, struggling on in the face of uncertainty. And a forum, if I've got the meaning right, is about a place for open discussion. This might not be the best place in the world for that, but that is to be expected when we are behind screens. Perhaps it's 'good-enough' though.............
Although there is disagreement here, this is a post that has got people thinking I think..........Good thread

Wrestlerman,
With regard to the Historical findings about Jesus... This is my take on it...
Most people are very comfortable believing Jesus did not exist. it makes things simple....Then, when Science tells us that he did in fact exist, people are then faced with what they are going to believe about His claims...

I think the thing that makes people uncomfortable about religious discussions is the closed minded nature of the people quoting the bible. In life there are no absolutes. If you want to believe in God all the power to you, but remember these books were writen by man and there's a chance you've all been had.
The meaning of life for me is enjoying the diversity that our planet offers and seeking new experiences. A close second is getting laid. LOL.
