When two males mate a female do we get puppies from both the sires. Please explain.

With akc, they will require a DNA testing of all the parents and then all the pups, they determine who is the sire of each pup and then issue papers to that pup with the correct sire on them. But I don't know how they will do it in other countries. Heather

Shanta, It can go either way, all the puppies might be sired by one of the dogs or there can be puppies from each.

Yes it's possible! It depends on the time. Is she ovulating during mating (just hours before and after)by both males. I know a (per accident) litter (German Wirehaired pointing dog with Weimar Pointing dog) in which one pure German pointer was born and 7 or 8 crosbreed Weimar/German pointer. The last combination was a lovely chocolate browncolour, they tend to have some wired hairs (moustache and beard). The breeder has tested DNA from the three parents. If the Dutch Kennelclub suspects a litter to have two or even more fathers (or even two mothers) they oblige you to do the DNA-test. If not? No pedigree!
