Very substantial female, especially the head/neck and front, although for my taste the back/croup is too sloped.    Here's the GSD:

   Is this a change in the type of GSD they are putting up at Crufts?     I don't know the show scene, especially in the UK, but I think it's interesting that this type won BOB.    In the show commentary, they mentioned the European type of GSD vs. the "domestic" Alsation type.    Here's the "pastoral group" at Cruft's.

Since I have owned Belgians, I was paying particular attention to them in the group.   I must say that I think the Malinios was awful, it was fearful and tried to bite the judge when being examined, and then had it's tail tucked and backed up into between the handler's legs.   How this dog went BOB is beyond me, especially disgusting since this is a "working" breed.     The Belgian Tervuren was very nice however, and didn't display any negative temperament such as the Mal.

This is the same type of GSD they've put up the last several years

Koots, her half-brother has been Best of Breed @ Crufts for the last

four years.  All dogs of Germanic 'type' have passed the KC's  'health'

assessments to enter major Shows like Crufts -  no structural or disease

problems found based on the way they are shaped.

The commentator's definitions are not those commonly used here in the

breed - we say German,  Germanic, 'correct'  (country of origin !) ;

even the Alsatianists don't much use the word Alsatian, most of them

preferring 'GSDs'  - of UK type -  and nobody appends the word 'domestic',

Clare Balding is in a world of her own when it comes to Shepherds, as she

has demonstrated before.  Pity she went on about the shape again, she

should have used her breath to point out that cringeworthy performance

from the Mali.
