I got my male at 6 months and he was 60 lbs, at 7 months he was 65 lbs. and now at 8 months, he's 69 lbs.  I do keep him lean; I can feel the ribs, but they don't show when looking at him.

My 5 year old ifemale s about 70 lbs, my 2 year old male is larger boned, & about 85 lbs, my male puppies, at 9 months are from about 68 lbs to about 75 lbs, but none are fat, you can feel but not see ribs, but they have a lot of bone, at least 1 of them is too tall. The females, both o them are petite, 58 & 64 lbs, not so tall, but still with pretty good bone. I get to see 1 of the male pups regularly, 1 just went to his person & he was 68 lbs when he went, his new owner says he has gained weight since he's had him, & I have the 2 girls, my babies, the sable had the bowel surgery..she's a very particular eater, now; but her sister's a little piggy- she'll eat her food, the bowl, & your hand, too, if you're not quick enough. But she's also a little hellion, she runs that food right off--little firecracker!. And then there's Wolf. Yvonne keeps him at around 95 lbs...but he's always on the go, too. His ribs can be felt but not seen, & he has big bones. Let's see, Wolf is....almost 8 years old. But all are still my puppies! jh

Trio,

Bella's a pretty girl! Sounds like you she is working out very nicely.

I say we need more reasons to brag and I'm glad you are happy enough with her to find a reason!

Thanks for all the responses. I didn't mean to suggest we all need to fatten up our puppies. Just thought it might be fun, and as noted above, I do love to talk about Bella :)  If you met her in person you would guess her weight to be about 50 lbs as she doesn't look that big. Must be the heavy bones that add the extra weight.

The German show motto is "thin will win", in case you didn't know (dunno if any of you trial with your young dogs, plan to, or not). It's better for your puppies' joint health to be a little on the lean side rather than hefty. They will fill out with age and maturity.
My 14 mos old boy is 26" tall, 75lbs. He's not heavy, but he's not rail-thin either. He looks nice.
If you're aiming for the standard, too, that should be considered.
By German standard for your weights people have been saying for 5-7mos old, sounds like alot of slightly oversized pups.
But if you're not breeding, showing, or worrying about doing such in the next few months(showing), then enjoy your puppies.
