Hello GSD Friends,

My wonderful dog, Tagan, has decided he likes drinking running water instead and has figured out how to turn on the faucet with his mouth. The faucet is some what new and is one of those ones that doesn't get super tight. I would rather not remove the knob. I would hate to have to keep up with a wrench to turn it on every day. Any Ideas?

I had a horse that did the same thing. Ended up getting a commercial type faucet that needed a special wrench. I put a nail in the fence and kept it a few feet away.
Never could stop Bucky, he liked to turn the water on, make a huge mud puddle and roll in it.....

There is a hookup that you can put at the end of the faucet - it is called a faucet water bowl.

cost about 10   the dog can drink freely out of the fauceet

Just got one of those. Surley he is smart enough to figure out how to drink from it. If not, atleast he can turn the water on anymore and he still has his water pan if he is thirsty enough he'll drink from it like the other dogs. :)

Get a lix-it;  hook to faucet outside, give a l/4 turn on; leave on; dog hits with tongue or nose and water comes out;  stops when not touched;  keep in shade if possible as sun directly on spicket heats up the water.  Great days, Nan  about $12.00/ I think I found one at Wal-Mart or Feed stores, Tractor Supply, maybe even Ace Hardware pet foodstores.  BOL  Nan

Lixit for when you do..

some gsd are slow to mature & not the brightest color crayon in the box.

shut it off.....LOL!

Denwolf, what a beautiful, cheap, simple solution! Hopefully, he won't be able to figure out how to turn THAT on!  Make sure you get the metal one, not the plastic, which won't survive being chewed.
