At what age did your dog's coat really reach it's peak?

I think mine gets shorter every year, he's five and i almost dont think of him as long coated, although very thick and at times needs lots of brushing

I have a long stock coat who will be 4 in July.  Her coat is the same since I adopted her at almost 2, but healthier.  Last winter, she didn't get a thick coat, but this past one, it was fuller-though we had a long, cold snowy winter!
I feed raw, and give supplements so the shedding isn't what it could be. She gets brushed about 1x a week.
