Even a top human athlete with outstanding reflexes moves in slow motion to a canine. Very few dogs are really serious. When there is a true serious dog on you,,you have a problem. Even with a weapon club, stick etc. When you move to attack, the canine sees you coming in slow motion. The canine can fake low and shoot to the face or other target. Granted in this video, the man was not ready, but it was all over before the poor guy realized what happened. Look at the deep bite the dog attempted. Had the handler not pulled back when he did, the repair would have taken plastic surgery instead of stitches.

The guy was an idiot as was the handler who apparently does not read his dog very well.You could tell by looking at the dog what was going to happen.Not a reason in the world why the handler should had let the guy stick his face in his dogs regardless how good a dog it was thought to be. The dog is a tool just as anything else on the officers belt,I doubt he would pass his gun around to a fifth grade DARE class so why would he let his dog mingle with them?Or in this case it seems to be a reporter of some sort.Some people have all the brains.........

I've seen this video a few times. The reporter obviously doesn't know much about dogs, much less how to read their body language. The officer is at fault as well for allowing this situation to happen or failing to notice what was about to transpire.

That reporter is an idiot. But unfortunately the dog looks bad to the average person.

Personnaly I think the dog, and the dog handler is the idiot. I do a lot of protection work, and a dog that is bred & trained well for protection has the abillity to discriminate between a threat and a non threat. The reporter, clearly not a dog person-- was not a threat. I question the stability of the dog, as well as the dog handler.

I "hope" after what happen that the dog and the dog handler are no longer apart of the k9 force. I hate to even say this but i hope the dog was put down because if he could do this to an adult... he could do this to a kid. The dog isn't an idiot but the dog handler... Hes the only idiot in this case... The dog didn't like the reporter, obviously but the K9 handler even saw the dogs reactions and did not even correct the dog in any way. He contuined to allow the dog react in such ways to the point of the dog biting the reporter. I say shame on the handler.

Also stability is a big issue when assesing dogs for guard work, and I beleive you have no experience in this field.

I laughed when I saw the clip but I will never admit it..........Firarm safety is nothing to laugh about and he is lucky all he did was shoot himself in the foot,he could had killed one of them kids or himself. Here's your sign........
