this article is very interesting in that there's been a video out there that actually teaches about assisted suicide and that teachers are actually showing it in their classrooms........ i'm really not sure that this is appropriate for such young minds. what do you think?

by beetree on 16 April 2011 - 15:04

NO, NOT APPROPRIATE IN ANY VENUE, AND YOU ARE SICK TO BRING IT UP HERE.

by Jaclyn4238 on 16 April 2011 - 21:04

Oh my.... no not appropriate at all. There is such an elevated risk of Adolescent suicide right now they do not need anymore ideas IMO

sick to bring it up here OR trying to give parents a heads up of what their kids could be learning at school?

How can people even start to have an intelligent conversation about things anymore.

"workshop on how to kill yourself in educational video for 14-year-olds" ? being shown in schools  really?  That's what is happening?

They are really showing a video to teens on ways they can more easily kill themselves, in school?  For real?  This is really what you believe?

Talk about twisting words and creating drama

I am stunned that people believe that teens are so gullible.  Just like sex education does not influence kids to have more sex, I don't believe that this type of video will influence the mentally stable.  Unfortunately there are those teens who have issues with mental stability.  If someone is going to commit suicide, believe me, there is nothing anyone can do to stop this.  All we can do is educate and support.  It takes a village to raise a child and everyone should be paying attention and be aware of indications of suidical ideation.  This blind "not my business" and "not my problem" needs to stop.  Get a grip, grow some testicles, and be unafraid to get involved!

Given the 'source' of this drivel I'm not too concerned.

This is akin to investing energy in beliving the National Enquirer.

My son almost got to watch a film on "self-pleasuring" in THE FIFTH GRADE !!!!!!!  I was at the school so fast it would have made your head spin.  I was horrified beyond belief  I am not a prude and have no problem with sex ed.  But I draw the line at actually teaching about sex!  That is MY job as a parent.  You must watch out for what is being taught at school.
