Hi Bob.

Id rather believe these scriptures.

2 Tim.3:16-17
2 Peter 1:20-21
2 Sam. 23:2
John 14:26.
That just a few of many.

Hi Gouda and Shtal,

I would love to discuss scriptures and the "Word of our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, I am a believer.  I tried to start a thread on the " End of the Age", maybe no one has any interest or a bad topic for a thread.

gouda:

Perfect examples of men who felt they were inspired by god.

Oh' come on Bob your a pragmatic guy, I would think you would find this topic at the very least interesting.  Great topic for people who believe or don't believe.  Going through life inspired by something is not all bad.

Oh by all means I,m very sure there is a higher existence and we should all strive to be worthy to experience it I just don,t find the bible to be the word of god. It was written by men fallible, human, tempted men to spin a page of history to there advantage. Were they directed by god to do the writing? or did they feel that they were anointed to do this?.  Look at our modern politicians they all feel that they are ordained to lead but as we know or find out most are poor substitutes for a decent role model.

More beings have been killed in the name of god then any war, disease,or disaster has ever brought upon this earth. Would a kind caring forgiving supreme being allow such atrocities?. I,ve always wondered at the white skined pictures drawings, colored glass of Jesus Christ??? it,s obvious he had more in common with Osmam Bin Laden then Caucasian European man. But to twist it to our European American advantage we see him only depicted as white and not the dark skined man he obviously was.

The story is all in the telling.

Bob,

I agree with everything you wrote ,except, I believe the Word of God, written by men is/was Holy Ghost  inspired. I can't believe they came up with it on their own, and certainly not in that era of time.

Mere men are fallible because they are not perfect.  As people, the very nature tends to pervert and skew many things for their own personal gain.

And yes, the depiction of Jesus looking like a young Bob Segar was never a good idea.  Since Jesus was/is Jew, he probably looked like a Jewish man.

In my opinion, man has made a mess of religion , that  I also agree with.  But Jesus Christ is a relationship not a religion.

But, listen, your points are valid, hard to debate some of the obvious flaws of man.
Kindly

The "flaws of men" are a result of our sinful nature.
