We started to research the Biewers in 2005 and in the spring of 2006 we were fortunate enough to be able to travel to Germany to meet the breeder of our foundation dogs Elena from Cleopatra Kennels. Elena was temporaily getting out of breeding these fine animals and entrusted her beautiful dogs to us, which is how in such a short time we have been able to start with such a strong base of dogs. We worked on supplementing Elenas dogs with some other very fine German lines and are also working with some very reputable breeders here in the states to breed the best Biewers we possibly can. The emphasis of Greenwood Biewers is first and formost on the health and character of our dogs. Since all of our dogs travel with us, sleep in our room, run in our house and are part of our family, we have limited space, time and arms enough to give each the love and attention they deserve. We will only have a few pups available each year and their new owners will have to be prepared to jump through some pretty stringent hoops. Our puppies will mostly be sold on spay/neuter contracts to help ensure that our puppies lives will be as carefree and fun as possible and they will be some families spoiled, devoted pet.

We will be showing most of our dogs with IABCA and NAKC this year. We are retiring Cleopatra from the show ring at the end of 2007 as, we believe, she is the highest ranking Female Biewer in the Country. (It's nice to go out on a high note) Most of her titles she was awarded in Germany and she finished off here in the states teaching ME how to show a dog in the ring..I had never done it before and she was an old hand so I just followed her. It was wonderful.
