Home of the legendary Bomber, of Sieger fame, my Spitzenhund pup just turned 4 months New Year's day. And as his 100 SCH/IPO (almost all 3) line proves, he's got the drive of a champ and a heart of gold. Panzer is out of Eiko and Tequila. Jet black and all Schutzhund. At 6 weeks he loved to hang suspended in mid air holding a "bite rag." Now he's alerting on strangers after a lengthy and sucessful socialization period. I highly recommend Spitzenhund. Parish Evans, the owner goes the extra mile (as to Europe) to ensure none but the best stock.!!!! Paul Gumersell, Springfield, MO.

We have a Eiko x Tequila pup, Wicked Vom Spitzenhund. She's a super girl! We actually have 4 Spitzenhund dogs. All 4 are excellent and Parrish, Patricia and Russ have always been excellent to work with. Best of luck with your new boy!

What is the significance of hanging suspended in mid air holding a bite rag? I usually conjure up an image of a pit bull doing that, not a GSD. I haven't seen this in IPO competition, either. There will be the excitement watching the decoy catch and swing a dog from the momentum of a long bite, but to hang and dangle? Isn't that a prey killing move, more for hog dogs?

Bee, nobody wants their puppy to bite the rag and immediately let go. Everyone loves the puppy that will never let go. The puppy that you can carry around like a suitcase. That generally means it has a nice deep, firm grip that it wont let go of. can you not see why someone would look at that as a positive in a pup at 6 weeks? The problem is not screwing that pup up through bad training.

Chaz. Oh, Yes, thanks for that explanation! I just saw baby teeth going every where in my head! I have paid a fortune to orthodontists over the years, it affected my thinking!
Best of luck to Paul with his new pup and his proper training!
