What Would You Do? - Page 1

The ladies of the View started a conversation about a mother who watched a store being robbed on a closed circuit camera of a convenience store. This mother recognized her son as one of the thieves and turned him into the police.

What would you do? It was not her child's first time with behavior consistent with breaking the law.

Two of the women, one of them Joy Behar, (who I can't stand on a par with Hillary) said, no way would she ever turn in her kid for any crime, no matter what. One point made by the other lady who actually worked within the legal system, was that our penal systems do not rehabilitate anyone, and in fact would do the opposite for an impressionable, but misguided youth and provide him with an advanced education in crime.

Now, I could respect that POV, but then Joy said, she'd never turn in her kid even if they were the Unabomber. So, she'd be just like that mom of the kid who fled with her son to Mexico, using their affluence to escape their responsibility, or actually—worse! Really?

What would you do? Where do you draw the line, if at all?

Petty crime; use tough love. But if the kid is a serial law breaker, the parents are at fault so intervention by someone with a program such as Steve Harvey's is absolutely mandatory to save such a kid from himself and from his failed parents.
Unabomber?...I'd kill him myself, then turn him over to the cops to eliminate everyone's suffering and prevent the criminal's continued suffering of his soul.

What ifs are useless, unless you have kids and a similar situation, you have no clue how you may react. You would kill your own child? Do you have children? If you killed him then you would suffer prison. WTH, am I even commenting on this thread for? SMH. What if I hit the lottery, what if I was never born, what if my twin lived and I didn't?

Gsd, the chances of having a kid be the unibomber is nil.....unibomber is already done in. If I had a kid in the act of murdering others and there was a situation of kill the kid to save innocent lives, you betcha I'd not stand a watch the carnage unfold before me. I'd eliminate the murderer no matter who it is rather than watch others get killed.

A parent being forced to make the gut wrenching choice of killing their kid to save others is real, gsd.
I had an acquaintance from Cuba thirty five years ago who had to kill his own emigrant adult cocaine crazy son in order save others. ( he didn't go to prison for it, BTW).

The other day in Charlotte, a very elderly woman was attacked and killed by the victim's daughter's  two pitbulls. The elderly woman lived in the home with the daughter and dogs, so was not a stranger to the dogs.
Cops came and captured the dogs with catch poles and loaded them up for quarantine for ten days because.....the daughter of the victim refused to sign the two dogs over to animal control. She wants the two dogs back that just ripped her mother's throat out causing her mother's death because they are her 'babies'...if those were my dogs they would have been dead before animal control ever arrived. That woman would probly do as the affluenza mom did if she had a killer kid.

Let your conscience be your guide.
