Very sad to hear that Hoky Va Pe is no longer getting any live cover breedings in Europe, not sure if any frozen will be stored on him,he is listed as having 138 offspring on this site, the main thing I,m wanting to find more about is how people are liking his grandpups and detailed info on what they are like ? what kind of drives they tend to have ? Any health issues noticed in Grand-pups ?

I have a Hoky Va Pe grandpup

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=640962-erik-vicona

No health issues what so ever.  Physically sound as a bell.  Very civil drive vs prey drive.  Very clear in the head and strong work ethic.  Very versitile dog and solid nerves in all situations.  I'm a complete amature handler and put an IPO 2 on this dog with high scores in tracking, protection and high in trial; the only thing that ever held him back at club level as ME.  Also he is sound as a bell at therapy work, dog neutral and loves children.

Anything else?

We recently used a Hoky Va Pe grand pup Xly Z Canczech, although I can't speak for him, his videos speak volumes about the type of dog Sly is. The pups produced are only 9 weeks old right now but I already know that they're extremely stable with excellent nerve.

If you search their youtube channel you will find many more videos of him. Not only is Sly stable but this stability and nerve can be seen in his siblings as well.

RLHAR thanks for sharing it was very detailed in what your Erik is like,he sounds like a very well rounded dog with nice drives and great to hear hes good with kids and is dog neutral and vtgsd thanks for sharing about Sly he is a Rush son correct ? Good to know the young pups are already showing good instincts,I know Irmus is getting some breedings a Hoky son but I havent heard about them,it doesnt seem like that many people have Hoky progeny in America

Yes, Sly (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=2057861-xly-z-canczech) is a son of Rush (Corado z Vetrovej lúky). I'm not going to theorize on the possibilities of why there aren't many progeny from Hoky here in America ;-)

Here's another video from Canczech showing Hoky's Granddaughters

I don't think Hoky progeny are any less common over here than any other popular stud. I know of two Hoky sons personally - Cero Jivo and Janko Moravia Artex.

Bet I could guess that theory. Wink Smile

I seen his Canto son in person and even though he is high drive dog he is not hyper, he was calm cool collected the entire time i was around him
