Has anyone on here used supplements such as Bullymax, K9 Superfuel, RF-1, CPN Vertex, K9 Showstopper?
What kind of result have you gotten with what kind of dog?

No, not on a puppy. If puppy is 4 or more months old I go to adult kibble also, or raw or both. high quality kibble preferred if it works for the dog. Good luck Nan

Human quality raw animal protein, raw fat, raw animal organ meat and raw bones are the best payoff dollar for dollar. GSD can get everything they need and synthesize the rest if they have a good gut microflora and have a properly functioning digestive system. Keep down the parasites with scheduled worming and all should be well.

I use Vertex with my 7 y/o female who has arthritis in her elbows. Nothing was working with her, Adequan was for a bit, but even that quit and she would limp fairly badly with any kind of exercise. Since trying Vertex (I had heard good things from friends and thought I'd try it out), she RARELY limps, even with a lot of exercise. She also takes Glucosamine and MSM every day as well, but the Vertex was the big game changer. So yeah, I highly reccommend it for a case like ours. I have friends that absolutely swear by it with their working dogs as well.

I have used Vertex, ShowStopper and SuperFuel before... I have had good results with all 3... My older female I have now does really well with the Vertex.. For Xena, the Vertex works the best for her... I have used the SuperFuel and ShowStopper before the Vertex.
My other male I had, that pasted away 2 years ago this March.. He did very well with the ShowStopper and SuperFuel...

can you give some details about what you mean by " now does very well ", and " works best for her ". Does it translate into weight gain, higher energy levels, better appetite, faster recovery, coat appearance?
For example , I give my dog nusentia probiotics daily and I can tell its doing something. The doggy body odor has completely vanished, and yes her feces practically has no smell. These two situations were not the case before using nusentia. I have been using this about two months. During winter my dog is kept warm indoors, and because of the low humidity and warm temperature she developed dandruff and suddenly started to shed heavily. I used Omega Mender Itch Ender , and in 1 week the shedding stopped and in about 10 days the dandruff stopped.

A quality raw diet would go a long way in achieving the results you are seeking in a supplement. Doggy odor, stinking feces are an indictment against your base feed. I don't like keeping my dogs too warm in the winter. I like the Vertex as well as extra virgin coconut oil.

MITHUNA,
Xena has always done better on Vertex than ShowStopper or SuperFuel. When I said "My older female I have now does really well with the Vertex."... The NOW I meant it as my current dog. Hope that makes sense. When Xena was a little younger I however did use SuperFuel, mixed in her water, after her workouts every day. I only used the SuperFuel in the summer. She got the Vertex year round. I have not used the SuperFuel with Xena for 2-3 years now. She does get Vertex though.
Xena's energy level, coat and overall appearance are very good on Vertex. She is almost 9 years old now. I will be adding a joint supplement for her soon. I am not one that likes to give alot of supplements.
ETA: The reason that I do not use the ShowStopper with Xena is because it made her gassy. I think it was to rich for her. It did not affect her stools or coat in anyway...Just made her have the "toots".

I have heard really good things about the CPN Vertex and have seriously considered trying it except that i do not see a need yet... I currently feed a good kibble mixed with Xkaliber (a green tripe product consisting of: Green Tripe, Muscle Meat, Heart, Tongue, Trachea/Gullet and Ground Bone) and i use Platinum Performance CJ formula as a probiotic and joint supplement on both of my 2 yr old sport GSDs, I can say that i could tell a difference in coat when i started the Xkaliber mixed with the food and when i started the PP i noticed an increase in sustained energy levels, a 'sharper' look in the eyes and a over quicker recovery time from strenuous work outs.
The big challange i have to moving to the Vertex is that i have not really found anyone other than Wallace Payne that has used it and has found success with it. So i will be watching this thread closely in hopes to pick up on other peoples experience
