HI All
Is there anyone who knows of a reputable trainer in NYC that can help mold a young working GSD ( female ) for whom my goal is to become a PPD. She is five and a half months old ( a muscular/lean 48 lbs ),and has a physical presence of substance. She is raised on Origen LBP dry kibble ( plus daily probiotics, digestive enzymes, and grizzly wild salmon oil, and monthly sentinel spectrum ),and lives in the house with us. Socially she is very confident, and is not afraid of the bustling sights, sounds, and surfaces of NYC. Although she is confident with people, She can be very ( and strongly so ) civil if the person has an uncertain physical approach towards her ( this propensity for civil edginess was foretold by her breeder ).She is an all day ball of energy who loves the tug and ball; her food drive is ok too. On the downside, she is quite dog aggressive ( towards all sizes of dogs ) ; she came to me like this as a 12 week old puppy, and remains so, despite my efforts to the contrary.I understand that this has been a similar trait in her dam. We willfully never did any obedience with her because we wanted her to be a puppy and not deter any of her natural drives; however , she knows a few basic commands. Any recommendations of a good trainer in NYC who can help us mould her into a really nice PPD prospect?. Thats my girl at 4 1/2 ( top pic) ,and 3 ( bottom pic) months old.

Hmmm, are you willing to travel a bit? The only person out that way I would recommend would be Gustav on here- PM him and see if he knows someone closer.

You might ask for a recommendation from the NYC police force?

Hi Blitzen
Do you have a contact to someone who I may contact?

I just asked my friend who boards dogs for NYC Home Security. I'll get back to you.

I always see Home Land Security K9 personnel taking up supplies at K9 Caterers in Glendale( off Metropolitan Ave) , but I never thought about asking them. But good idea, please let me know.

She was evaluated before by a Schutzund Trainer in LI; his opinion at that time was that she was too sharp; she had a habit of hackling for almost everyone she did not know. He advised me to socilaize her heavily, which I did and the constant hackling problem is now almost a thing of the past. However if someone approaches her with hand gesticulation or uncertain movements, she can get really civil. If I pet her while allowing someone to come very close she interacts in a more friendly manner. This is her natural behavior without any kind of training.

I haven't heard from her yet; they had a lot of snow and she is digging out the kennel. Glad I'm in Florida .

mithuna; To put it simply; '' you get what you pet' You started off with a correct recommendation from a trainer on LI. Look for more feed back now that a little time has gone by. Do you want her to be sharp? Do you need her to be sharp. ?
