My puppy I just got died from parvo and I have a show to go to this weekend. Should I go? The dog I am showing lives in a different house and has all of her vaccines. My puppy was not anywhere near the things I take to the show and I have cleaned every thing with bleach that I could. I really need advice and I do not want to risk getting the dogs at the show sick. Thanks to everyone that answers my question.

That's a hard one. I guess it depends on how thorough you were with your house and clothing. I had pups get parvo a few years ago and I threw out A LOT of stuff- basically, if it couldn't be bleached, it was burned. Furniture included. Things I couldn't part with were bagged in plastic and put into storage for a few years. You need to think about shoes, clothing, anything that could be carrying virus on it.
OTOH, parvo is everywhere, and there comes a point where you're being paranoid (I know I surpassed that point!). Are there going to be puppies at the show? Another question to ask yourself is if you were someone else at the show, would you want someone there whose pup just died of parvo?
I don't see the other dog as an issue- I see YOU potentially dragging virus there as the issue- whether in your vehicle, on your clothes, etc. It's mind-boggling when you really think about all the things you touch, especially before you know your dog is sick.
SO SORRY for the loss of your puppy.

Very sorry to hear this; I agree with what Jenni says. Its about what virus you might
carry with you, both to the Show and to the home of the dog you are going to handle.
I can only say what I would do, in your shoes - and that is, I would not attend, purely
to be absolutely sure I could not pose any threat to other dogs. Parvo is usually worst
for the very young and very old - but any age can catch it and be very unwell.

If it will stress you out, don't go. It sounds like you have covered your bases, so there's no reason you can't go. There shouldn't be any unvaccinated dogs there and parvovirus is truly everywhere anyway, so I don't think it's that big of an issue. Maybe wash your hand well before petting other dogs or just don't pet any.

If only parvo vaccines worked, then yes, it would be no big deal. As for me, the only dogs I've lost to parvo were vaccinated. None of my unvaccinated dogs have died from it.

Thank you everyone for your reply this helped me a lot. I wish that my puppy would have never gotten parvo but it is something that happens.
Thanks again
Thanks again

It takes more than one parvo vaccine for pups to be protected.
I want to scream every time someone says my pup had a parvo shot, It should be fine right. WRONG....
I know most here know better, b6t not everyone does,
The shot is given in a series of shots at different ages for a reason. It takes awhile to build Immunity.
Some dogs I guess get It anyway. Than, there is more than one strain of it too.
If it were me, i would not go. I would not want to chance being the one to drag it around.
I am big advocate to vaccinate pups for parvo.
