I encourage everyone with an opinion on the ability of a trainer to use
the tool of his/her choice (regardless of whether that tool is an
ecollar or ANY other tool) to take the survey. They have opened it up
to all, so we should take advantage of the opportunity.

First of all why do they want to know how well you have done in your learning days at school or Uni days whatever. that is nothing to do with Dogs or E Collars, or how well you can train a dog Cat or anything else of how brainy a person is. then it goes on to
What Canine Behavior Credentials you hold
It would be interesting to know how many experts there are reading this on the Forum and class themselves in that category.
The next question is
How many Years have you practiced as a Professional Dog/ Trainer Consultant.
What does a PROFESSIONAL MEAN, does it mean you are paid or that one is very experienced in training dogs in certain Sports or for other things? and where does it mention E Collars in any of the questions

I was wondering about those things too. Unless you ANSWER the
'demographic' questions, you can't even look at the next page. So
its not a very 'open' sort of survey, even if the form does get to the
point about E collars at some later stage ! Not averse to studying,
or reading other people's opinions, myself (pacé Momosgarage and
Steve1's disagreement) - but I have not taken a Behaviourist course
and am not 'accredited' with any organisation as a Trainer, so does
that mean the originators of this Survey don't really WANT my opinion
on the use of E collars ? Or that of others in my position ?
Well that's too bad, they MIGHT have got an answer they actually
wanted from some of us ... Perhaps I should get my qualified Behaviourist
friend to fill it in for me ? Oooh, wait a minute, not sure that will work as
it does not appear to be INTERNATIONAL in its recognition of qualifications
either ! 'Bad Science' awards, anyone ?

I suspect they're wanting to be able to see if there is a correlation in e-collar usage compared to age and education level. I answered the questions, because it didn't really bother me. If I were to conduct a survey, I might also be interested in those correlations.

This type of survey cannot be answered unless you have paper qualifications and a high education. It is not for the ordinary run of the mill Dog owner like myself who with my type of education and know how of handling dogs may possibly not understand how to use an e.collar in the right manner, It is for people with the education values that momosgarge has and of course the training ability she has as well.So all in all i think a small percent of the Guys looking in on this Forum will be qualified, No snub to anyone but i guess there are ordinary people out there like myself.

Tell you what guys, I will take another shot at this by 'answering'
the demographic filter, even if I have to lie or put "none" in their
"other" box - then we shall see ...

Ok, done that. Apart from the slant towards "professional behaviourists"
[and anyway the use of E collars is, I feel, more one for TRAINERS than
any sort of behaviorists], it did let me 'in' when I played about a bit with
what I told them on P1. P2 & 3 are about E collar use, when you arrive
there. The questions do appear to be sensible and not entirely geered
towards 'steering' one's answers.
Typical academic/IT geek lack of common sense however, it would not let
me 'out' at the end unless I had something extra to submit (Thesis, photos,
etc). So I had to pull out rather abruptly by closing the file, and therefore
didn't actually get confirmation my completed q'aire was accepted.

What would it do if i answered the questions of course i would have to lie to even get by the second page. but i still think it would blow up or try to stop me. NO, this survey is for Geeks only with superior dog handling capablilities. It is not for the people who lack high education levels but are excellent Dog Handlers who do not have the paper,s to back them up. in other words some of the greatest dog handlers in the world are not qualified to take this survey.
Steve1
Great you had a go even if you did lie to it.
