I have a dog from a kennel in Germany < some people seem to think that people send dogs to Germany, and spend thousands of dollars to do it so they can just say the Dog is Titled and not really trained ! are you kidding me , anyone who would like to see this dog do tracking ,Bitework (Sleeve optional ) let me know.. where do you think the dogs you have originated , here is a clue , German Shepherd . i am sorry but that guy ,saying ;oh you pay to have your dogs titled . thats a bunch of hooey!

Actually, it is pretty common knowledge that some dogs go to Germany to be titled and come home kinda not knowing much. Obviously not ALL, but some.

I would worry that they weren't treating my dog well, or like I'd want him/her treated. If you don't really know/trust the trainer, who's to say what could happen!

It is the same as anything else to do with dogs. You need to do your homework and develop a relationship with who you are sending your dog to, who you are buying from, etc. Whether an hour away or across the ocean, there are reputable people and there are those ready to take your money and run.

I have seen dogs imported that people paid top dollar for that can't heel, act like they have never seen a sleeve and most certainly won't out if they do bite the sleeve. Clearly someone was paid under the table to mark them finished and titled. And then sold to whoever.
For me a foreign dog with an IPO 1 doesn't hold water unless it can perform the actions on this side of the pond. My trainer has had to "retrain" AKA start from scratch several dog from clients who purchased dog from over seas. Mostly these are showlines.

I can honestly say that I have yet to see ONE dog sent to Germany for titling that was actually trained. I have seen dogs with NO trainig sent to Germany and returned three months later with a title. The scorebook shiwed that the title was " earned" after 21 days in Germany--the dog was just kept for three months to make it look legitimate. The owner never even noticed the timing, until it was pointed out. I know well-known breeders who send dogs for such titling on a regular basis, yet don't dare even enter the dog(s) in a trial for a Bh, because they know full-well that the dog was not really trained or titled.

If  wanted to send a dog to Germany for tiling, I would get recommendations from GSD owners in Germany who I feel I could trust. Why is it even necessary to ship any dog to Europe for training and titling when there are plenty of capable trainers right here in the US? Train/learn to train your own dog maybe?

One guy I know sent his dog to Germany last year and ended up going over there and literally taking the dog from the trainer because she had him for month and months. She never responded to any of his inquiries about his well being or progess. When he got him, he was grossly underweight and not trained any better than he was when he shipped him there. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of similar stories.

Hey guys, no need to jump to conclusions. Abadonsdad has a video they say they will share. Lets see the video.

Either we have someone who has what they say or it's another clueless paerson posting on PDB. I'm not sure which one yet, but, I'm willing to wait and let them prove themselves one way or the other.

In the mean time, I'm wondering. If what Abadonsdad says about titles is true. All from Germany are the best. I'm wondering why the SV has implemented safeguards to eliminate the type of titles others are pointing out.
