Anyone know anything about what he produces? Health, temperament, drive, general demeanor, etc.? I am so ignorant when it comes to the black and reds...Thanks so much.

Not one single person knows ANYTHING about what those lines might produce?

You asked if anyone knew anything about what HE produced, not the lines...and I couldn't find anything he's produced, anywhere. Sadly, I suspect this poor fellow has fallen on hard times and has probably been passed around quite a bit. The picture used on his pedigree here doesn't do him any justice, though the ones on Hoobly don't, either--he looks rather scruffy in his Hoobly pictures.

Quite odd that he wasn't breed surveyed until 2009, given he's a 2006 model.

Bax Luisenstrasße has a reputation for decent work ethic, and for producing such in his get, which is in keeping with what his maternal grandsire Eros and great-grandsire Cello.

A rather 'open' pedigree as far as linebreeding goes--usually see a lot more than this, even in just 5 generations, in the show lines.

His picture on here has been photoshopped (very poorly too). He looks much better in the leithawald.com link Hexe posted!!

I know I asked what he produces, but still thought someone would answer if they knew what the lines are known for. I am as ignorant as they come about who produces what in those lines. If someone had bred to him that'd be great, but at this point, any experience with the lines would be appreciated.

Doesn't he just look so forlorn you want to buy him?? He looks twice as old as my 6yr old.

Thanks for answering.

Forlorn is the perfect adjective...he definitely makes me want to take him home, brush his coat out and restore his dignity to him--and give him a big hug, too.

I've not heard anything negative, temperament-wise, from these lines, for the most part [yes, Jello vd Wienerau was not the epitome of courage, but he produced better than himself, and even those who mocked his character couldn't deny he was a beautiful dog with beautiful movement].

Thinking of improving his situation, perhaps? It IS surprising to see you inquiring after a black & red dog.... Tongue Smile

Someone asked me about him and I started looking at him, and well..................................................................................

I've been intrigued more w/black and reds the last few years for a few reasons....even partnered up w/a B&R breeder on a pup that will likely be bred to both working line and show lines in the future. It doesn't pay to draw arbitrary lines in the sand. I have no problem with a B&R if it's sound both mentally and physically. None whatsoever. I'd breed to one if I found the right one. If I could find a really nice Kirschental male, heck, I'd consider crossing into the dreaded working/show cross department.

Thanks for the input. I may as well be looking at a BYB ped when I look at these; it's all gibberish to me except the BIG names...and even then, I only know they were well-known...and nothing of temperament.

LOL Jenni the "dreaded cross"!  I just did that, an acquaintance bred her mostly DDR female to my WGSL (son of Kirschental bitch, motherline is Kirschental all the way back).  I think at least three of the pups were spoken for before the mating even took place (pick male is mine, I did the breeding because I *want* the puppy).

Good for you VK and good luck with the puppies.  That would definitely be something I would be interested in also; and a boy would be my choice.  BOL  Nan

VK, sounds very interesting indeed!

You mean Nikon? The world's most handsome B&R?
