Hi all, this is Willi Ortner Jr.,
To those who have been around a long time in the sport of Schutzhund and the German Shepherd world-
Julie Ortner has been battling health problems for a very long time, and they are slowly getting the better of her. I know there are people who have known her since the early years (60's-70's) that I do not know personally, or know how to get in touch with.
She was USA Breeder of the year back in the 90's, and instrumental in our breeding program at von der Pfalz German Shepherds. She's competed on the world team, and titled quite a few dogs back before she had me. Her husband, Willi Ortner Sr. is still breeding/training, as the same with me.
If you knew her, please get in touch with me. I am trying to find pictures from her past in dogs, or in general, as well as any stories you might have.

Very sorry to hear that Ms. Ortner is having health issues. I have never met her, but I do know how much she has done for the sport and the breed. Please convey my very best wishes to her.

Update: Julie passed away on Friday (2/15) around 1:30pm with Willi by her side.
My dad and I will be holding a wake for her on March 2nd, at 2 pm at his house in Hollister, CA
