Q- What are the best exercise for German Shepherds before Show ,?
by workingdogz on 02 January 2013 - 10:01
Make sure the dog is lean and fit, lots of hand walking,
if you can find hills to have the dog run up to fetch a ball etc
Walking in soft deep dirt/sand is also a good way to tighten
ligaments & tendons. Slow gaiting beside a bike works too,
but vary your exercise routine. Make sure you or your handler
is in good shape too, all that running will kill a guy

You only have a couple of weeks now..
Very important: You need to distinguish between condition training and ring training.
Pulling on leash is fine, cycling is good ( no hard surfaces though! ).
During ring training ( you NEED a ring ) not too much, your dogs always need to have fun, they need to show that they "want" at day X.
Train stacking, fast gaiting on and off leash, shoot with a pistol, train to show teeth and testicles.
The most important - work on bonding- they need to listen to someone.
