First attempt at stacking - Page 1

This is our girl, Thaya, at 20 and 21 weeks and our first attempt at stacking her (its a work in progress, took three people and ALOT of pictures). Let me know your thoughts/opinions and any advise on getting a better stack would be greatly appreciated

sometimes it is confusiton, been there.....

The stack is good but not perfect, I am not the best to tell you how to make a better stack but what is obvious to me is the hind leg, the one far from the camera should be placed a bit forward, also her fore legs should be placed right under her withers and straight (vertical), in the picture they look placed a bit backwards.
The picture itself is also not perfect, it should be taken camera level with her back top, also you should crouch straight to her center, center of her back, the present picture was taken lens lower than her back and with angle to her front.
The dog: Difficult to comment on the front upper arm angle but it doesn't look bad at all, shoulder placement is very good, pasterns look strong, gorgeous head, ears and eye, beautiful neck, very good withers, very good topline, good length of croup, maybe a bit steep, tail and tailset look good. Hind angulation isn't very clear but nothing looks bad there. Feet are not visible, can't coment whether she's straight in the front or not. Good dark mask, good eye color and shape, also good nose stop. Beautiful girl, I hope you get more detailed comments on the stack and picture itself, I've seen very good comments on that before but can't remember all the details. Have fun

 Hi,
The reason we stack the G S D is to show the structure of the dog
to help the judge/ person who is evaluating the dog,
to be able to see the revelent points against the standard, better.

To me a good stack is when a dog is relaxed but alert
(showing good expression)
 The trick is not  to over excite or restrain the dog too much.

 She is a bitch of good size, medium strong, sl. long in proportions,
 still of very good type.
 She has a very good head and expression,
 with dark eyes  and  a very nice topline.
 Has very good front angulations and good hind angulations.
 A good depth of chest.
 You got to watch the mouth and bite.

Thanks for everyones comments/suggestions; I will certainly use your feedback while working on getting a better stack so stay tuned for more pictures in the future. Sonora: She is currently losing her baby teeth, i find them all over the house everyday. :) Was there something in particular that you saw that concerns you regarding her mouth and bite? If so, could you please ellaborate further? Thanks!

What's her bloodline, who is her sire and dam?
She really looks good.

hello Thaya, that is a very nice first attempt. Things to nit-pick on if you are trying for perfect: the thick red lead is distracting to the  overall picture you are trying to present. Also would look better if the lead were held higher, rather than in line with the dogs topline. The dogs front legs are "spread" out and the photographer is not square with the dog.

anyway, looks like you are off to a good start and a photogenic dog to boot.

Before you attempt again, do the following:

DRINK several shots!
Don't let the actual person who is snapping
the pics drink though 

Some good advice from Rik, dog1 etc.

Stacking requires you to take 300+ pics
to get one or two good ones
