hello all,
we just got an email from the trainer who is working with our Sam. He said training is going well with her, but he noticed that she is a little "sound sensitive". What could we do to change this? We take her just about everywhere we go- she loves to ride in the truck. We take her on walks outside and such. I do know that she doesn't like it when the vacuum cleaner is on- she goes into the bedroom until it's off. Just wondering what i can do to help this, or if it's not really a big deal that i need to worry about.   thanks,  jim

Is she going to be doing Schutzhund when she is older?  If not dont worry about it sounds like you have done everything right. Exposing her to differect things, taking her places.  I STILL jump when the gun goes off and i know when it is going to happen, I don't however spook and run off the feild so I am ok :)

no, she's not going to do Schutzhund. Might be looking into possibly therapy dog though. I will say she LOVES going to the pet store. She knows what isle the bulk treats are!!

It isnt going to be a big deal then, just keep doing what you are doing. Expose her to as many things as you can.  It isnt the reaction that is a problem so much as the response to the reaction.  It is only a problem for a pet if she takes off running due to a fright.
