My boy (5 months)... just starting doing what I call .. ."Talking Back" (i.e. Sassing).  I'm thinking he is just over-excited... but feel as though he is "demanding".

He only does it when... I go to let all the dogs outside (I have 3 GSD's and a JRT).  I make them all wait (mostly for the pups sake until he is fully trained like they are)... they all have to sit and "wait".  If I open the door and someone moves.. .I shut it and repeat until no one moves for at least 3 seconds.  Once they have accomplished this.. .I tell them "Free" and they may pass.

Ok.. that said... before yesterday... all was going well with this "procedure".  Yesterday afternoon, the puppy started barking his head off when I try this.  I am not stopping what I am doing.. its just taking 10 times longer now.  Now every time I go to the door he is starting in.  I am trying my best to ignore this bad behavior... but my JRT decided to join in on the antics today.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?  WHY DID HE START DOING THIS?

Did you fix the behaviour?

Yes.. I just waited until he stopped.  It took less time at each sitting...

But I added for him to Platz (lay down).  So now when I go to the door... (I have 4 dogs and a little hallway...lol), everyone still has to wait... but now instead of just "sit".. they also have to down... its harder for the puppy to bark his head off when he's lying down.  Once they are all relaxed and no one is moving.. I open the door... no one gets to go out if someone moves.  The puppy has decided he can now manage this.  lol

That is good, sounds like lots of fun at your house.
