How far do you travel to your Trainer or Dog Club?
Is there a certain time frame to and from, that you would have to consider was far enough?

We travel 5 hours one way. Although 2 weekends ago it took us 9 hours to get home.  Worst snow storm of the year!

Hello Brynjulf,  That is one heck of a journey!  How often do you make that journey?  Presume you regard it as one of the best, or is it the nearest?!!!

Try not to make the trek more than once a month. The members are excellent and dont regret the journey at all.  This year i may have to go more often due to the shear number of young dogs in for training.  I don't mind the drive in good weather but that last drive was WAYYYYY to hairy for my taste!

"Trek"?????  More like a Marathon!!!  LOL.
I can appreciate that snow storm would have been high on the stressed factor.  It must have been a huge relief arriving home.

More like a toodle Vixen :)  Remember in Canada we measure distance in hours not miles :)

i used to travel 2 1/2 hours one way to oklahoma once a week. I did that for about two months unti i found a club that met my needs for training AND was easier to drive to. only 1 hour one way now :)  but now it's 2 times a week.  But I give BIG high fives to you! 5 hours one way is a heck of a dedication! hope you were able to spend the night there and train the next day too!

There is obviously a HUGE difference to how us Brits view distance to travel, compared to Americans and Canadians - LOL.

Hope your petrol and diesel is cheaper than ours at present ......  We have to carefully consider the need to take the car to the end of our Drive-ways.  A week-end excursion is regarded as no further than one main road, three sets of traffic lights and two roundabouts - tank up, and back home!

Vixen (Phew)!

Used to travel about 90 minutes each way (depending on weather).
