You know what pisses me off. The stations that have a lower price for cash than Debit or Credit. It is a scam. So they get a small charge from CC or whatever. Do they not remember, when it was all cash only, many places had (wo registers for two cashiers to deal with the volume of customers. People paying with cards at the pump enable them to not pay an extra person $8 an hour, which saves them $. So what's with the extra .10/gallon?

I paid off and threw away all my CC's in 2006. Then got a Visa debit with my Credit Union account and a Business MasterCard debit for my online account. I never use them because of all the discounts for cash paying customers every where I go. About the only time I use my Visa or MasterCard is when I travel outta my state. And that's only because I want to be tracked incase I end up dead in a ditch or river somewhere.

I love the discounts, especially where I buy my farm machines and parts and the horse and cattle feed @ the mill ... cash payers with 500.00 purchases or more get 10% discounts and 20% over 1,000.00. Helps me out alot because the 10 or 20% pays for the shipping.

My doctors are awesome because I pay all my health and dental cash. My last health visit was quoted over the phone at 275.00 and I payed 97.00 cash.

I love cash discounts ... sorry you feel that way. I collect Quarters and Pennies though too, maybe that why. LOL

I can understand for certain things, but when the majority of your customers want to pay at the pump? I went to get a haircut and they had a sign on the door, "due to fees, we will no longer accept Debit/credit". I did a 180 and laughed. I went somewhere else. Instead of losing their small fee, they lost the whole $20 I would have paid. It's stupidity. Lose 5% or 100%, you chose. And to be honest, it adds up to more than 100%. Every time I don't go back, the % doubles.

I just filled up my tank, and I love the convenience of my Speedpass, but the regular gas price was $4.22/gallon! And I'm pumping it myself, no one checks my oil or washes the windshield...remember those days? LOL There was an 8 cent difference for cash,  but I have to go inside and pay so I don't. Yes, I agree it is a ripoff.

The news says these high prices are the work of Wall Street speculators, being that the truth is there is plenty of gasoline available, the Oil companies are gouging us all, big time.

I don't go to gas stations that promote that discount.....I drive a diesel truck with a 38 gallon tank.

With diesel at $4.25 a gallon, paying in cash is impossible.......Honestly, who carries that kind of cash ($150-160) on them.......not me.

My Ford Power Stroke has dual tanks.. a 24gal main and a 20gal rear. Between the both tanks and travels I usually get 630-800 miles depending if, where or what I'm hauling. If both tanks need filled I pay about 160.00. Usually 130.00 because I never run below the needle. If I only run my horses at home I get just shy of 800 miles with a 2 horse gooseneck. Paying cash for gas is nothing compared to vet fee's on a race track. What ever horse is getting treated in a recieving barn the owner/trainer must pay cash or the horse doesn't get treated by the standing vet. If the horse doesn't get an eval and treatment the horse is scratched by the racing commission.

Also I sometimes like to buy different roughage  compared to mine and the farmers who drive around stables and tracks who sell top quality hay, alfalfa, timothy only take cash .. so a 52 bale truck load or 1 ton is 360.00 easy. Paying cash for gas is nothing.

Now I'll prolly get robbed on Friday. 

Chaz, if you wear your numchucks around your neck, at the pump, they will give you the low cash price.

I always pay at the pump, here it is cheaper than full serve.  We are up to 133.8 cents a liter now.  This is just nuts!

Abhay, I don't know where my nunchucks are. I think my mom hid them for not eating the meatloaf.

red sable, I just paid 136. last night and this morning it's 121.4   Arrrrrrrrrrg. good thing I filled my tank yesterday...( insert sarcasm here)
