Understand exactly what you are saying Alphapup!
by duke1965 on 19 January 2012 - 09:01
alphapup , you cant let it go obviously , If I read your last post correct , about bark and hold , let me tell you that my dog NEVER gets a bite in the blind , she barks and is rewarded with a ball , so all your theories about the dog being safe or not safe in the blind close to the helper , dont fit my dog , because all she gets there is a ball , no bite
you keep on going about the sit picture , my dog sits relaxed next to me , when I ask attention , she focusses strongly , thats what I want , thats what you see , second set of pics show so
also second set of pics of heeling , look at bodylanguage , ears and tail , if you are so knowledgable , you must recognize that
assuming closed eyes , just admit your wrong , as I posted picture from other angle , that shows eyes open ,
just let it go ALPHA , but , I think you will come back and start bout that sit picture again

Duke, forget about AlpoPup. Before I read his posts, I noticed the positioning, but I have zero idea where you are in training or what was going on in that split second. Alpo like to read his own self indulgent posts. Forget about him. All I got out of his picture, is the fact that he needs to hit the treadmill.

I am incredibly new to this forum, but I think even I can recognize an attention seeking troll in this thread and it's not the OP.
Nice pics.

I for one find Alpha Pup's ability to read a dog, his expression and body carriage amazing and he has been very helpful to me and my dogs. Perhaps it is because we share the same thought, that I don't ever want to MAKE my dog do what I want, rather I want my dog to want to do what I ask and to love to do what I ask. I want to empower my dog. I want obedience to be full of joy and enthusiasm and protection to show a very controlled and confident dog. I also think the two are related. A joyful dog who does not fear correction also is a more confident dog as well. A dog can be stressed in the blind, bite or no, why even a look from a decoy adds some stress to the dog. Sometimes just being on the training feild can be a source of stress if the dog associates that with something unpleasant or being confused and corrected. Sometimes just the sight of equipment can stress a dog before it ever gets to the field. I have seen that myself in other peopl'es dogs. You don't have to agree with everything said, but having an open mind and considering what is being said can help everyone.
