Kaffirdog

I've seen it before, I think "quaint" would be a better description, I rather liked it.

I found it amusing too. Not in a fall out of your chair way, but so many happy people & happy dogs, & such a great variety of dogs was cheering, & I noted the helper had a tear in the unsleeved arm of his suit, & many of the dogs were on leash over obstacles, especially the big fluffy white dog, great Pyranees(?), who also had some doubts about returning over the obstacle. Some of the situations were amusing, hiding in the shrubbery? And brilliant, dog protecting children? I loved it, thanks for sharing!

I like the dress codes of that general era, my grandfather used to tell me you walked to the corner store you put a full suit and hat on.

everyone had the identical dress code. anyone who varied was treated with much suspicion.

it was like a race who could be the most average in every way, the culture was homogenous to the letter, outliers were of the devil.

if you needed to touch a lady for some reason you put white gloves on. only immediate family ever had skin on skin contact.

i think that's funny.

Somehow you don't sound like someone who would be all that comfortable

with that sort of regime.  Confused Smile

Neat old video of an all-breed club competition?    I see Bouvier, GSD, Rottweiler, Kuvasz (big white dog with fluffy tail), Airedale.     Looks like an early KNPV trial, with the object guard being children instead of the usual briefcase.     Nice to see so many Bouviers in one trial (a Bouv was my first dog), it looks like there's even a fawn-coloured one at 4:02.     Thanks for posting that very interesting look at what I believe to be early KNPV club trial/activities.

I wonder what breed are those dogs

Sorry I didnt see the previous post! Is the one of short tail a schnauser?

I didn't see any schnauzers, the one you are referring to is a Bouvier, many of which had their tails docked and ears cropped.    The Bouviers of years ago were more slender, athletic and less hairy than the show Bouvs of today.
