This thing is irritating me to no end, LOL!

I tried to add my dog yesterday. Says sire and dam unknown. Ok fine, added sire, then went to add dam. Her parents are unknown. Ok, go to add HER into the database...sire is in there, dam is not. Go to register that dam. Then get an error that its already in the database. Fine. Go back to register the bitch again, says the dam isn't registered. So I give up, register my dog's dam, and I get her successfully registered (with an unknown dam, mind you, grr), and go back to register my dog. Confused yet? Says his dam is not in database and I need to register her.

Then I cursed out the computer and went and had a beer.

Is this a technical screwy thing or what? My poor pooch is registered with no momma now, lol.

Had the same problem as you when I added my Mal - had to enter both the sire and dam as they were not in the registry yet....after adding them successfully....they would not appear on MY dog's registration.  Tried several more times and then gave up that day - went back a day later and was finally able to successfully edit my dogs registration so that the dam finally appeared. I agree..... It definitely can be a pain in the butt - yet I do appreciate having a database such as this.

Yep its pretty nice, didn't even realize they had a mal database as I'm always over on the GSD side. Too cool.

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem yesterday and was very upset at having given so many attempts to register my late dog's entire pedigree.  Worse still, I havn't been able to find the facility for contacting anyone to remove what I have entered and to give advise as how to attempt this again.  I thought I was completely inadequate but now realise that the system is wrong.

Please help, someone?

I must add, that having looked at the records for Labrador Retrievers and was impressed with huge pedigrees I thought it very strange that many of the Rough Collie entries listed parents unknown.  I canot imagine anyone with a pedigree dog not knowing the parents or at least 5 -7 generations of ancestors.  Hope this system is made easier then no doubt many unsucessful attempts will be rectified and much more information will be available on the Rough Collies.

(Hope this doesn't imply that Labrador Retriever owners are much more intelligent than the rest of us and found no difficulty in entering their details.  If so, come on  Rough Collie owners and get back on the systme and share your wonderful dog's history)
