Pretty irrelevant since he's already bred

by hntrjmpr434 on 14 April 2016 - 02:04

Why are you just now asking if you already bred him?
Admins, is this a late April Fools?

I think he is asking if the dog is to young to have good puppies and not weird ones.

Perhaps someone told him that breeding them young produces puppies with a lot of birth defects

Is a male too young at 20 months ? In general ?
I would have said No - but a) it's cutting it a little
fine, b) it really does depend on the individual
dog's development & c) just 'cos someone says
that's an ok age for a dog, does not make it sensible
to start breeding bitches that early - in case the OP
gives anyone lurking that idea !
Far more important to ask whether the dog should
be bred at all IMO.

ok gotcha just wondering with all the things ive read is all

by hntrjmpr434 on 14 April 2016 - 14:04

Why wouldn't you have asked for advice prior to the breeding if you were concerned?

Arkel, he is very young, but in case the dog was health tested, and titled, it´s no big deal, I am pretty sure it´s fine for AKC.
How old is the dam? At least for me the age of the dam is more important than the age of the sire ...
