Breeding and age - Page 1

Hi, I recently read that certain breeders believe a dog's abiltiy to reproduce himself is diminished after 7 years of age and that after that time the female's traits will dominate the breeding or be more expressed. 

I am wondering if this is just an old wive's tale or if there is any validity to this.

Just an old wives tale in my recent experience.  My current litter out of a 13.5 year old male bred to a 2.5 year old bitch is strongly showing the male's traits.
